Seagate 600 Pro 480Gb 2.5 Solid State Drive

Works perfect with my 2013 Silver PowerMac tower and 480GB solid state drive. 5 |

(Please note I did NOT say a solid state NAS drive.) Seagate NAS drives provide great storage capacity, in a standard-sized package, and they're designed for NAS. Highly recommend. 5 |

Solid state drive worth it. 5 |

This device makes a solid state drive (SSD) compatible for a Mac Pro. The hard drive slides that come with the computer only mount 3.5 inch drives. This enables you to take advantage of the new SSD's fast speed and reliability. It comes with four mounting screws so that you can mount your SSD (sold separately). 5 |

This is my second WD 1 TB drive, and I use them to both store and backup photos from my MacBook Pro (with solid-state storage). Even with lots of RAW files, the transfer rate seems fast. It is small, and easily stored when not in use. There is nothing about this drive that I would change. 5 |

This is just what the doctor ordered to accompany my new Mac Pro. It is not as fast as a solid state drive but more than adequate for editing HD or storing video files. I also have a bunch of RAW photos on there as well that are easily and quickly editable in Lightroom. 5 |

I love LaCie hard drives and SSD's. This 5TB hard drive is as solid as a rock. I have gotten rid of all of my other drives and ONLY use the LaCie Rugged drives now. I use Adobe Premiere Pro on my Mac Pro (late 2013) computer and my LaCie rugged drives are a perfect fit. LaCie uses Seagate drives which has been a very dependable drive for me for many years. Seagate has been around since 1979. 5 |

I am a biased user when it comes to hard disks and use only Seagate manufactured units. Both the 4TB and the 7200 rpm 2TB, 3.5 versions have performed well. These two units was my first 3.5 purchase since the appearance of laptops, other purchased units were 2.5, replaceable for internal drive if needed. The price of the 3.5 4TB unit, for an external drive, was why I did not buy a more expensive 2.5 drive. Mind you I do miss the performance of the old 2.5 models with 4 GB of solid state cache; not seen in the catalog recently. 5 |

I had an old 2.5 hard drive that I had salvaged out of a failed SeaGate enclosure. The problem with this hard drive was that it was an odd size, 15mm tall, so I was extremely limited in my choices for enclosures, and this seemed to be one of the only ones that could accommodate it. This little enclosure is great. It's constructed fully out of aluminum, no flimsy plasticky parts in here. Very easy to install, hard drive fits perfectly, and sits very secure inside the enclosure. I don't feel worried picking the thing up, throwing it into a bag and taking it place to place. When it's all set up I get very fast read and write speeds as promised, limited only by your hard drive RPM or your SSD rating. 5 |
