Seagate Barracuda Pro

I only use Seagate barracuda drives in my computer.I have a computer based recording studio and seagate drives are very reliable as opposed to other brands that have failed in the past.

Works with Seagate BarraCuda 1TB SATA HDD P/N 2GH172-021. The HDD was a 2nd drive in a laptop that died. The USB 3 SATA III drive adapter cable gave me the means to retrieve my data from the dead laptop.

I purchased the drive I was running out of space for my photos on my 1 TB Seagate Barracuda. I wanted a fast and quiet drive to support photo editing. It is both.

I purchased this hard drive to replace a 2TB Seagate Barracuda drive, which was working well but becoming filled with my photos. After copying all the files over, the new 4TB drive works well too. I installed it in my PC as a regular drive, not in some form of backup configuration as mentioned in the description. I purchased this particular unit because it has a very MTBF (mean time between failure) score. The only negative is I can hear the heads clicking as they change position, but the sound is not loud enough to bother me.

I exclusively use Seagate Barracuda drives for all my computers. I've never experienced a failure or any corruption of data. I had to use the Seagate Drive Utility to get Windows 10 to recognize the drive, even though the Bios was seeing it, but this is a windows thing, and not a drive issue.

Barracuda Seagate Drives have been my main go to drives for all my back up work. I've never had one go down on me (knock on wood) so I can highly recommend them.

Always purchased Seagate Barracuda drives for the last 10 years. had very low replacements units these drives rung 24x7 365 in a raid 6 setting. Great price too.

Good upgrade from the older Barracuda drives from Seagate. This is the best and most cost effective drive for long term video archiving. Just buy a few USB 3.0 docks and you are good to go!
