I use this hard drive as a backup to another identical Seagate.

I have used my Seagate Hard Drive for around 2 months now and have no complaints about the product. In my line of work 1 TB is honestly a bit over kill, but nonetheless I still find comfort in knowing that there will be space on it for years to come. Uploading speeds are completed with haste and efficiency, and in my experience have been carried out with not a single error or mistake. The hard drive is light and discrete, which is important to me when I am traveling. Lastly the small indicator light is a huge asset to be because it visually confirms that everything is in working order, to there are no guessing games or double checks to see if files are in fact being carried over. I strongly recommend this product to those who want to have peace of mind in file storage, and those who need to take files with them in the midst of travel.

Seagate drives have been good for me in the past and the price is right as well. I use this as a drive in my drobo.

Good value and quality (as expected) for a Seagate drive

The drive operates quickly and efficiently. I set mine up and immediately began copying over materials from a drive that was starting to fail. I got it all copied to my relief and then set up TiimeMachine to back up the information. Unfortunately, I'd left the drive in the Ex-FAT (Windows) format and this created a major problem. I ultimately had to completely erase and reformat the drive to work with Macintosh compatible documents so it can be backed up via TimeMachine. The experience was scary and frustrating but it gradually dawned on me that there were instructions to reformat the drive to operate in a Mac environment which I neglected to follow. Don't make this mistake! It now works fantastically, fast and accurate. My only hesitation about the drive is the strength of the blue LED on the front. It is so strong that it can become annoying. I've repositioned the drive on the desk behind my computer so the flashing light is shielded from direct view. I can look around to check it but not inundated with constant flashing which I find distracting.

A nice little case for protecting all my files on a seagate hard drive, I have two now.

Bought this drive recently. Works well for me and is faster than my older Seagate drive

Every Seagate drive I've ever had has crashed, and anytime someone asks me to help recover files from their crashed hard drive it's always a Seagate. Whereas I literally have over 20 Western Digital drives and I've never had a single one stop working (even ones I bought 20 years ago are still working fine). This is a Hard Disc Drive (not Solid State Drive) so the speeds could be better of course, but I knew that already, I was just buying it for the massive space. I got the 18TB version, which winds up being 16.3TB of free space after you convert their tricky decimal-to-binary tomfoolery. Happy with the purchase!

Seagate cudas are usually good. Hoping the same for this. Using it as a time machine drive.
