As far as external drives go, this is the best one I've had. It's reliable, feels durable, and connects via USB-C. After two bad experiences with Western Digital drives, I'm staying with Seagate/LaCie. Both this drive and my 500GB Seagate external HDD are my daily drivers, and I've yet to experience any data reading/writing problems. There's just one quirk with this drive. When I connect to my MacBook using the USB Type-C-to-Type-C cable, the drive will start to disconnect itself at semi-regular intervals after a few minutes. This only happens on my Mac; my PC laptop is immune to this problem. I reached out to LaCie, and they recommended trying a different cable. When I connect with the USB Type-A-to-Type-C cable, the problem goes away. I assume it's either just the cable or my computer, but I figured I might as well throw that experience out there. Overall, all I have to say is: Don't regret buying cheap crap. Just get a LaCie Rugged drive and you won't have to worry about losing anything. 5 |

The hard drive in my Dell 620 (Seagate ST31000524AS) was failing ... causing slow operation and repeatedly throwing reports of disk errors, bad sectors, etc. despite my attempts at repair using a variety of programs. After finally getting a successful disk image from the original drive using Macrium Reflect, I swapped the drives and loaded the disk image onto this replacement. On restart my PC booted right up from this drive and it's been running like new since. 5 |

At first I was skeptical with the dimensions that my Seagate 2TB External Hard Drive would fit into this case. I called the store and the gentleman assured me it would. So, I got it. This case provides the protection I need to carry my External Hard Drive from one location to another and with the hard-shell design, I can have confidence that my external hard drive will function when I plug it in to my laptop. 5 |

Seagate did as advertised. It was truly plug and play, with no reformatting, hard disk erasures, or special apps. Whether one is not inclined to do extra operations ,or maybe not prepared, Seagate solves our problems. Great product. 5 |

I just added the WD 4TB Elements External Desktop Hard Disk Drive to my� back up solution (6 hard drives) and Windows 10.� I disconnected the power and USB cable from a full WD hard drive and replaced it with this new drive and fired it up. It works great, just like I would expect from Western Digital. 5 |

I have been purchasing WD external hard drives for over 6 years now, and they have been great so far. It is lightweight and a bit smaller than the previous WD external hard drive for Mac. Instead of having two cables, for USB and USB-C, there is only one cable and it has a USB to USB-C adapter. This saves space from having an extra cable. Captured in the photos attached. 5 |
