I recently bought a second hand Viper scope which had been used for ten years or so on a UK nature reserve. The scope itself is in great condition but the padded case is, not surprisingly, a bit battered. I emailed Vortex for advice on where to buy a replacement in the UK and I was amazed when Ryan said he would send me a new one under the lifetime warranty. I think that this is absolutely amazing - I knew the scope itself was covered, but was flabbergasted that the case was included! My scope now looks fantastic in its brand new case - brilliant. First, have a pair of tweezers or very small pliers on hand. Second, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Other than that, it's easy, and solid. NOTE: this is NOT meant to switch between lenses. If you have more than one Nikon/Nikkor lens, buy one for each. Once it's on there, you won't want to remove it. You can, just not very easily. Also, this does NOT support any AF or aperature or any other electronics. Manual only. I don't yet know the weather sealing on it, but I'm not about to test it. I think I'll keep this in the studio. I love being able to use my favorite old Nikkor nifty fifty again! 5 |
