I needed a storage dock to transfer SSD footage from my Blackmagic Cinema Camera to my external hard drive. The Rocketstor storage dock has been a simple, efficient solution for me. Just connect a thunderbolt cable and you can transfer about 50 GB in 11 minutes. Not bad! As a filmmaker, it is the perfect intermediate to set up for post production. Using multiple SSD cards, I can continue shooting while the footage downloads. I highly recommend it for indie filmmakers who are working on a smaller scale.

I really like this HDD. It lets me run six 4K security cameras and keep about four days of footage while running the recording 24/7.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it for my security cameras. Stored a lot of footage.

I'm a documentary filmmaker who does a lot of traveling and I appreciate the security of my footage above all else. My primary backup drive is a 4tb G-raid (one of the newer ones that is the same size as the 2tb older model). I was pleased to find that my drive fits perfectly in this case. Fantastic! The only words of wisdom I can offer is that you should perhaps put one or two of those moisture absorbing silica packets from beef jerky in there to absorb any extra humidity and make your drive smell like beef jerky.

Great drives, my go to for 4 to 8k RED footage storage on location and editing.

I've looked far and wide for large storage options for video footage and this is great. I store all my old projects on these and have never had an issue. One thing to know is that you do not want to lose the power cable to this guy. It will only work with the seagate power supply.

Video Media storage with a Mac Studio Ultra. Maximizing storage speeds with NVME in RAID 0, though heatsinks might improve it a bit further. Speed tests indicate it can handle up to some types of 12K footage. Cruising through multicam 4K footage in conjunction with NVME media cache. SoftRAID keeps asking for the activation code for some reason. OWC needs to fix that. Only 2 months in but working as advertised so far.

I struggled to find an enclosure that could reliably accommodate my 4 22 TB HDDs. After two failed attempts to find an appropriate platform to host my drives, I finally found this bad boy which has worked spectacularly so far. I'm a big data hoarder, I literally save ever photo and video I take (you never know when something you shot might come in handy) so being able to expand my storage capacity by 60 TB (4 22TB HDDs in Raid 5) was vital, especially since I was running out of space on my other enclosures. What I liked about this enclosure, besides its reliability, was also its speed. For a spinning disk hard drive set up, this thing is fast! I shoot 8K video and I'm able to transfer my footage quickly over it's USB-C 3.2 cable. I'm also able to edit that footage directly off the HDD. My other, older enclosures, are really only good for long term storage and not direct editing because they're only at USB 3.0 speeds. I now no longer have to transfer my footage to the SSD to edit my projects, it's a great feeling and a freeing one. In the end, I can't recommend this enclosure enough, and I know when I go to expand my capacity in the future with hopefully 24 or 26 TB HDDs, I'll be going to QNAP first.
