Works like advertised. I use it with the Nikon Nikkor AI 35mm F2 (Nikon F Mount Ai) for a Sony a6500; fits tight, focus ♾. Great buy.

Short review cliff notes :- 1. Was a Canon bigot - RebelG-5DMkII and all between 2. Camera wasn't easy to master and glass+ camera big/heavy 3. Bought a Nex5n as travel camera and loved it 4. Upgraded to A6300 and totally loved it 5. Wanted to do more and out comes the A7RIV 6. Love the crop capacity 7. Like wildlife and landscape so this handles both well (shutter + 60+MP) 8. stunned by AI lock on 9. stunned by crisp images 10. can imagine an A7RIII owner finding hard to justify the jump 11. For me its a country mile leap forward 12. light, crisp, agile, smart & comfortable to use 13. Menus a little fiddly.. move between AI wifey portrait to dog on beach running and its not a quick change (perhaps programing smart buttons is the way) ? summary... gr8 camera, 0 regrets, finding excuses to go and take pictures.... thanks Sony, thanks BHphoto.. this is a serious bit of kit and easy to pick up and shoot !.. samples attached.. (am an enthusiastic amateur) had the camera for 5 days so not earth shattering pics but a mix for your interest

So after retiring as a professional 'tog for 40+ years, (AP, NYT, magazines, blah blah blah), I still have a few clients I work with to pick up extra spending $$$. But at 67, carrying two DSLRs with a pair of 2.8 lenses, was exhausting after a long day. I was looking to shed weight and this fits my needs at 2.5-lbs! Focus is fast and the menu is intuitive coming from the Canon 1DX. Files are great up to 3200. Past that is a bit compromising. A bit noisier than the 1DX and I found that the meter reading didn't match my exposures. (under exposed)  But I had purchased the Tozaz AI suite and between this camera's files at 6400-8000 iso and Topaz AI's de-noise, it's great for dark venues. I used it on a 3-day job and never once touched my pro gear. In fact I starting selling it all two days after the recent job! I have not been excited about photography in a long time, but this got me rev'ed up! Oh, and transmitting 2mb files from the camera to my phone for my client's social media usage, is FANTASTIC! The return on investment on this camera is a no brainer for me.
