Security Camera With Audio Recording Legal

In my work as a Legal Video Specialist, I serve as an officer of the court when shooting depositions. The witnesses give sworn testimony that must be precisely preserved for the judge and jury in a court case. There is no time for a take two. For more than 10 years I have relied on Transcend's 800x 64GB CompactFlash card as my primary recording medium. I have always found the Transcend CompactFlash cards to be less expensive, more reliable, and consistently a superior recording medium than other brands. Not long ago, I tried another brand and it bit me... hard. Instead of simply transferring the data files to my computer for processing, I had to fall back to my HDV tape backup, a process that meant going over two days of deposition several times... real time. I've now got a couple more Transcend cards as backups and expect few problems from here on. I am really glad B&H introduced me to Transcend and their great memory products!

Have used Seagate for several years with no problems in NVR's for security camera recording. Highly recommend.

I only use these on location for recording audio.

This was the first recorder I bought many years ago. Just recently bought a NINJA as a backup recorder, mostly because of the price and all the hype. When I used the ninja for the first time it started to overheat after 1 hours of recording, the unit was getting hot to the touch. Then when I stopped the recording after 2 hours the file was corrupt. After using it one time I returned it and bought another Blackmagic Video Assist. Ninja was completely useless to me for LEGAL VIDEO the Ninja also feels like plastic and has a very short power cable.� The Blackmagic is solid and a perfect for LEGAL VIDEO.

I installed 3 large disks, 2 x 18 TB and 1 x 24 TB, for use 24/7 recording security camera footage. Connected via USB-C to a new computer with an Intel i7-14700 CPU. Each disk is recording 4-5 MB per second.  Disk installation was easy. No noticeable fan noise. No need or desire for any RAID setup - running as JBODs. Wanted 5 bays for future expansion. No problems or hiccups so far.

I'm using the StudioRAID in a RAID 1 configuration recording security camera videos on a Windows PC. Setup was easy. It's recording multiple cameras 24x7 so it works hard and performs well. I like that there is no power brick. My only complaint is that it is noisy. It's the hard drives, not the fan. I've noticed this with other Glyph arrays. Usually it's not a problem as they are a server room or space that is already noisy.

Audio is not my forté, and I have long dreaded having to take care of it when working on projects by myself. When confronted with a job that required 4 people to be mic'd, I had to find a good solution to solve getting all inputs into my camera, while not breaking the bank. After a lot of research, I decided to get the H6 to use for recording audio, and relaying audio to camera on video projects. With the four XLR inputs and expandable to 2 more, this recorder does the job awesomely. You can connect your mics to the recorder, and using the line output, connect the recorder straight to your camera to get all audio in camera along with the separate channel recording in the H6 itself. It's a fail safe that keeps me feeling solid during work no. You can read about all the tech specs online...I'm just here to say it is a champ for me.
