being able to monitor what audio goes into the camera is an essential part of recording pro video. I run with a zoom H4N and I like the piece of mind of piping the audio into the camera as a secondary backup in case something goes wrong. This little cable allows a direct line signal to record beautifully into a DSLR while giving the option to plug in headphones and make sure you're getting no peaking. 5 |

I am new to dSLR video recording and therefore also new to audio recording. A friend told me to get an external audio recorder and a mic. Audio is at least 50% of a video recording. Audio is often the part people don't pay enough attention to and make the video below par. So I told the advise and got a Zoom H4n and the Rode NTG-2. The combination works well. Since the NTG-2 is self powered, with the right cable I can also hook it up directly to the dSLR. 5 |
