I did a lot of research when replacing my existing non-HomeKit friendly security system with a HomeKit friendly one. It does require an existing ecobee thermostat as a hub, but since I've been using one in my house for years, it was a no-brainer for me. All the sensors only take minutes to install and configure, and they immediately show up as first-order members of your HomeKit environment, ready to take part in automations. ecobee's Smart Security add-on is a worthwhile upgrade, even if you don't go with a fully monitored solution. All-in-all an excellent product, easy to install, easy to use, just what you'd expect ecobee to be like! 5 |
