Returned the Sennheiser HD 200 Pro Monitoring Headphones in exchange for this Tascam and the build quality is decent for the price. Great dynamic range for this price as well and bigger driver

I replaced the cracking headband on my HD 280 Pro headphones with this one from Sennheiser. It's a perfect fit and easy to install (package has instructions).

Driving three Sennheiser headphones (2x HD 212 Pro and 1x HD 280 Pro) at the same time - from a 302 mixer by SD - never went above a 9 o'clock setting on the output controls. The XLR line inputs are great! The options of 3.5mm or 1/4 input (headphone-wise) makes it very flexible. The battery life is excellent: 4 days in a row of continuous location shooting before having to change them. Can't beat that! ...and there is lots of Ooomph on all outputs

While this replacement part is advertised by Sennheiser as only for the newer version of Sennheiser HD 280 Pro released since 2016, it fit great my older Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones bought around 2013. It doesn't seem like the replacement part for pre-2016 headphones is readily available, so I'd say just go with this. There are off-brand replacement pads available online, but I question their quality - the original pads served me well so I hope these original Sennheiser ones will too.

Not surprisingly, Sennheiser has made a great pair of headphones. I use them for monitoring when recording and mixing, and for general use when listening to music. I love the sound quality and the flat frequency response. They're pretty darn big, which could be good or bad depending on your wants/needs. I don't mind it, and they fold up pretty compactly. Overall a great pair of phones.

These are considered the studio standard in circumaural open back headphones for good reason. The sound reproduction is excellent, with clear bass and midrange and a very balanced profile through the entire frequency spectrum. It makes me angry at how much I've spent on speakers and studio monitors, these do a better job at a fraction of the price.

I needed a HDMI 1080p and 7.1 surround monitoring solution for my MacPro running FCPro and Logic 9. I already have a Black Magic Intensity Pro which has worked well but could only route 2 channels of audio over HDMI. The HD Express install was seamless and has no problem sharing the PCIe buss with the Intensity Pro card and a Sonnet eSATA card. I like the fact the HD Express can also route 8 channels to the 8 RCA output providing many more monitoring configuration possibilities. Only downside, HD Express is not totally compatible with Pro Tools 10. PT can access the HD Express for audio output but not video. However, I am able to run 7.1 audio thru the HD Express and 1080p video thru the Intensity Pro so far without any problems. The MOTU HD Express just might be one of the best and least expensive solutions for getting HDMI video and 8 channels of embedded audio out of the MacPro in support of monitoring video and 7.1 surround in FCPro and Logic 9. I highly recommend the HD Express,

I didn't know this even existed until I saw it in a B&H e-mail. It is perfect for holding my heavy Sennheiser HD 800 headphones on top of my stereo components. This stand is light, sturdy, perfectly sized, and even looks good. Highly recommended.

These replaced my old Sennheiser HD 580, open back headphones. I’m a drummer and I chose them for their natural, even sound throughout the entire range. Very comfortable to wear for hours. Appreciate the 3 cables, wow! Awesome. Carry pouch is nice to have. Very pleased with them. Thank YOU!

The HD 800 S is very comfortable and feel exactly the same as the old HD 800. The sound stage and imaging are amazing (like before) and Sennheiser (finally) fixed that high peak and added a little more power to the bass. However, I feel that they are still as picky in terms of amp-pairings. Definitely do your homework on pairings (try them out at a local hi-fi store/audio meet) before dishing out for these. They may sound fine on some amps but are lackluster on others and require more power than most other headphones out there. Accessories are the usual except they now come with the balanced cable -- which used to cost $400 separately. I can't comment on the difference in sound between the unbalanced 1/4 and balanced XLR cables as I haven't spent the time to A/B test them, but it's nice of Sennheiser to include this if you ever need to switch to an amp with only balanced outputs. The included cables are a bit long if you're not in a studio, but if you have the money for this pair of headphones, you can probably afford a custom, shorter cable for portable/at-home use.
