Sennheiser Hd6 Mix Studio Monitoring Headphones Review
FLU SEASON | 2024-07-09 04:14:31 |
these Sennheiser HD280 Pros are what you need for your recording studio hands down! Amazing quality sound....i mix with these and i prefer these over my studio monitors...thats how good they are! good reproduction and accuracy of what your mix will sound like...whatever you hear thru these, is actually what the final product of whatever you record is....amazing sound rejection...you block everything out! my ONLY small complaint with these are the fixed cable it comes with...if you break it, or it becomes unservicable, it would be very difficult to remove and replace...yeah, sure, it comes with an option to but the replacement cable for this unit, but that takes away from being absolutely PERFECT...but even with that...5 stars...or more specifically 4 and a half (fix this B&H!!!!)...if you want to enter the professional realm of studio headphones, these are what you need! 5 |

We have a home recording studio and on ocassion we need to provide mix monitoring to more than the 2 headphone outs available on our audio interface. This little headphone amp is exactly what we needed. I was surprised by the quality and power of this little headphone amp. 5 |

Not surprisingly, Sennheiser has made a great pair of headphones. I use them for monitoring when recording and mixing, and for general use when listening to music. I love the sound quality and the flat frequency response. They're pretty darn big, which could be good or bad depending on your wants/needs. I don't mind it, and they fold up pretty compactly. Overall a great pair of phones. 5 |

Returned the Sennheiser HD 200 Pro Monitoring Headphones in exchange for this Tascam and the build quality is decent for the price. Great dynamic range for this price as well and bigger driver 5 |

Ive used the standard Sony studio monitoring headphones for video production purposes, and while they sound fine, they just dont last very long...ear cup material comes apart or just comes off. The Sennheiser HD 280s are buil to stand up to the riggors of location production applications while providing great isolated sound for monitoring purposes. My only compliant/wish would be for them to switch to a non-coiled headphone cable...gets stretched out if someone decides to wrap it around the earpieces or if it gets shoved into a bag. 5 |

I use this model for monitoring and mixing in my studio. These headphones are the best I have ever used and goes right along in the same category as the SM57 microphones. Best sound and amazing price for the performance! 5 |

These headphones are great for the price. Perfect for studio and live audio monitoring. We even use them for videography to monitor audio coming into the cameras. 5 |

Comparing this to AKG K240 Studio monitoring headphones it is not as good. But it's very close. This was the only headphone I could find with a removable cable at this price point. Sound quality is very good but not excellent. This may be that I haven't broken the headphones in yet, but the sound stage is stiff and the treble with percussion is a bit muddled without good separation like on the AKG. These headphones have more emphasis on the low-end than the AKG 240's though. Comfort-wise these headphones fit better than AKG from the get-go -- it took awhile for the AKG's to loosen and stop squeezing my glasses to my head. However, I wish the pads were slightly bigger or oval shaped to fit the ears more comfortably. The padding is very soft. Another reviewer noted that the Polsen's 32ohm drivers cannot be driven by an iPad, but this is not the case. I had no issues when testing with normal volumes on an iPad Mini 2. The AKG K240's are 55 ohms in comparison and are decidedly quieter. A good purchase for good quality monitoring. 5 |

I've never spent this much money on headphones before. I was setting up a new recording studio and I wanted monitoring headphones in my budget. These were almost unanimously recommended, and it makes total sense. They sound fantastic. I don't know enough to give more details, but that's all I can say. I edit voice over work, and this is beyond sufficient for what I'm doing. I even replaced the ear pads, which altered the sound slightly (because of the different foam insert size) and they still sound excellent. Would highly recommend. 5 |

You can't really go wrong with this set. You might read countless things like, I'll never go back to regular cans or Vastly improved my mixes and I forgot they were on my head, they replicate studio speakers that well. And these statements are all very true. There is certainly a heavy amount of marketing with these headphones. But, my God can you obtain such a clean mix with these. Will they replace my studio speakers entirely? No. But they are the best way to double check your mixes, no doubt. And it makes it so much easier to find tune EQ and adjust your mix. If you don't have quality studio speakers and a treated room and if these were all you had to go by, it would be acceptable. The only negative I would say about this set is that while the emulations of professional studios are fantastic, the headphones themselves could certainly be improved. While the bass reproductions work and they provide the data you need to make your adjustments in the mix, the bass is very muted and weak. Again, the necessary frequency reproductions are there but it needs more oomph. I think what the VSX system needs is just a higher ohm model with some higher quality bass drivers. Why not provide a premium edition? All in all, I don't think anyone could actually be disappointed with these. 5 |
