I really didn’t want to drop $130 for a stylus when there are alternatives for $30 that do mostly the same thing. And that’s just it. I want the pencil to serve it’s purpose and be as minimal as possible. I don’t want to worry about charging it separately. And all the other options require a cable to charge while the Apple one charges right on the side of the iPad. I also didn’t want to scratch the screen which some of the others look like they could do over time. Is this worth $130? If you are an artist or use it for things like photoshop, then I would say absolutely. Why compromise. If you just want a stylus just cause, then I suggest you get the $30 ones or skip it altogether. 5 |

I like modifiers that serve many purposes and offer a lot of flexibility. I've always incorporated umbrellas in my lighting and believe they have a place, but we all know that standard umbrellas spray light everywhere, and that's not always desirable. The deep (and somewhat parabolic), 16 sided umbrella is different in that there is much greater control over spill and directionality. You get a bit more punch, while still maintaining a nice soft, diffused light source, as well as a beautifully round catch light. Build and materials seem very good. There's quite a bit of tension in the umbrella mechanism, so be aware of that when you release the tension to close it. When I'm shooting on location, I'd much rather set up an umbrella than an octa, and I'm finding this deep umbrella to be very useful. 5 |
