Setting Up Comcast Wireless Router

We have a n router, not an AC standard router, but, compared to the adapter built into our relatively new laptop, the wireless download speed increased from about 20 Mbps to 36. Our hard wired service from Comcast into the router is about 85-90 Mbps so there is speed loss in wireless, but it's much less with this adapter than the one that is built into our Dell laptop. Plus, if we ever buy a new router, (and possible upgrade our Comcast internet service), we may be able to take advantage of the higher AC band speed.

We are comcast customers and we have one room that we could not get comcast wifi reception (even with Comcast wifi pods.) Luckily I had previously wired the room with CAT5e access to a PoE switch that was connected by CAT6 cable to the Comcast modem/router. Adding the Ubiquiti AP was simple and it provides excellent wifi service in the formally wifi-isolated room. The SID for the room is different from the SID broadcast by the Comcast modem/router but this slight inconvenience is worth enduring to get a strong signal.

I have had comcast connection for internet. Comcast always claimed that I on my high speed plan but my existing wifi router would never give me that much speed. I switched to ubnt router and voila comcast's claim turned out to be true.

Synology makes setting up this mesh router fairly simple. Power it on next to your router, use the DS router app and you're up and running in about 15 minutes. I have four of them and they are all wired. So make sure you follow the instructions and connect it wirelessly to the router first, then take it where you want on the network and plug it in. The ability to add a dozen of the MR2200's to my router means that I can create a reliable and fast wireless network that rivals my wired network in terms of square footage and then go beyond the building. My wireless devices automatically drop and connect as I move around. I could not be happier with this device because it is reliable and the range meets all my needs. I have no complaints from my network users.

Finding instructions for setting up the speakers to a new router was the only difficult part and connecting my play ones to a wireless connection. Other than this I have a play 5, two play 1's, beam, and boost for a surround sound which is very premium if not THE BEST speakers you can buy. I've owned products since 2016 and have not been disappointed since especially since the speakers and the app get updates!

I use the wireless speedlight commander with my new Nikon R1 WIRELESS CLOSE-UP SPEEDLIGHT SYSTEM and am just getting used to it but I do love it - going to practice some more today.

I’m not a big tech person so was a little nervous about setting this up on my own but I was finally tired of paying Comcast’s rental fee for the modem. Set up and install was easy enough, the app walks you right through it. I’ve had it running for over a week now and everything is working great.

Big problem setting up with Comcast. Fortunately, the tech at Netgear was very helpful. He helped me get it working in short order.

I have been using the CM1000 for three weeks now, and it has increased my internet speed significantly. I had no issues setting it up with Comcast. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to upgrade their modem.
