Setting Up Ps5 Edge Controller

After borrowing and testing a set on 3 different shoots I purchased this set. Very easy to set up for Manual Exposure right from the Controller. Controller makes it so much easier to adjust flash power without lowering light stands and manually setting each flash power! Set your FLASH unit on i-TTL so it receives the correct settings from the controller. I've also used it once as a full TTL with the Camera setting the exposure and it worked OK. I also purchased a YN685 flash that works with the controller without using a receiver, but haven't done a shoot with it yet. 5 |

I use this for my PS4 and will use it in the future for the PS5. I bought it for it's compatibility with the PS5. It works well and I love all of the options you have for setting up the sound stage. 5 |

Great controller and I love the software editor that is free. Every setting is customizable and I love it. 5 |

Needed more USB 3.x ports with a controller, didn't need to be bleeding edge Gen 2.2.abyx.v10 (3.2 Gen 2 or above). Did some light research, and really wanted to avoid Renesas from a previous experience. The card also needed to fit into a PCIe x1 slot, and other cards looked... dubious, with their USB C ports (3.0 x1 can't support over 8Gbps). Also don't have many C to C cables or devices that use it. Don't need it to power devices beyond flash drives and just drive a powered USB hub with wireless receivers. Installation was straight forward, and Windows picked it up immediately. 5 |

I really enjoy using this controller with Edius 6. It has a default setting for Edius, and many other NLE's, but it also allows you to configure the controls as you wish.I use this at work as a reporter and editor for a TV station. The controller gives you precise control over the timeline - the inner wheel offers a helpful frame-by-frame advance. I can also set in and out points easily. I prefer this controller compared to the Edius keyboard.Honestly, I'm surprised it only costs $ It's a good value. 5 |

Pros: Incredible range and sensitivity on both the 2.4 and 5ghz bands. Also has the (superior, imo) Atheros chipset onboard, supports true PoE, and gigabit speed ports. Does what it says on the box and looks really nice in operation too. Speeds are phenomenal and noise rejection is impressive considering the jam packed ISM bands in my area. Cons: The controller software is a bit of a pain. I installed it on a very limited space low voltage Linux box, and it chewed up almost all of the available disk because of its insistence on preallocating journal files for MongoDB. Seriously, a big data NoSQL database for a wifi/network controller? However, if you put on a box with plenty of space, this won't be a problem. They do have a smartphone app that you can use instead of ever setting up the controller, but once you adopt in it into the official controller, the app loses the ability to manage it, even with controller mode enabled. I'm sure they'll fix this on a later release. Of course, the controller software is really slick, so if you've got a spare (or main) machine that you leave on all the time, it's worth the effort to set it up. Overall: The AP's performance, features, and aesthetics are all top notch. I would absolutely recommend this to anybody who wants a totally awesome wifi setup that blows consumer grade gear out of the water, as long as they don't mind getting their hands a little dirty setting it up. 5 |

I feared that this unit, having the upgraded controller by Samsung, was going to generate more heat than would be recommended for a laptop, but after setting up Linux and adding all kinds of applications to my laptop the heat problem has not been such. 5 |

I have the previous version of this lens (F/4). It is outstanding in resolution, even wide open. Edges get a bit soft at larger apertures, and chromatic abberations need some help, but with automatic CA correction software - not a problem. Besides, this is with the earlier verion. With minimal postprocessing you get corner to corner (well edge to edge) sharpness and contrast. Light falloff also needs some postprocessing correction so keep you iso on the low side to minimize shadow noise. I used this lens for 8 years before I discovered that the Depth of Focus (not Depth of Field) meant that I couldn't just rely on setting the focus to 5 feet and get everything nice and sharp. My copy has infinity occur at a setting on the lens scale of 1 meter. Turns out this is important for lenses with very shallow depth of focus like this one. So if you think you have a soft copy of this lens, use your Live View magnifier to check your focus. Once I discovered this it was like getting a new lens - very sharp. 5 |
