Settings On Dslr Camera

This is my first DSLR although I've been shooting 35mm SLR for over 30-years. Consistent with Pentax 35mm bodies, this package feels sturdy and well built. My only critique would be the mounting ring on the 55-300mm lens (included with the kit) is not metal...very minor but worth noting. The camera includes numerous settings for every photo opportunity, and offers functionality and versatility ranging from manual to fully automatic and most settings in-between. When in auto modes, settings and adjustments including focus are quick and efficient. The LCD is easy to read/view, and settings are easy to navigate (although I still favor the viewfinder which is easily read too). Both the 18-55 and 55-300mm lenses shoot clear and crisp, and the camera handles very nicely even in large hands. Recently I shot a MLB game shortly after receiving the camera and got some great actions shots. As an added incentive...the price can't be beat!! 5 |

5 stars! Stable and very easy to adjust level with slider on. 5 |

This is the first DSLR camera we've purchased and so far we love it! Even just taking the first shot without changing the settings, it took better pictures than any point and shoot we've had! Can't wait to learn more so we can take even better pictures! Seems to be very user friendly as well. 5 |

This is my second dslr and I'm delighted with it. It's simple enough to be a great beginner's camera but has enough functional diverse settings to do a lot of great experimentation for the shots I want. 5 |

Amazing DSLR, very flexible with an array of settings. I have used this camera for Sports, Landscapes, portraits and night photography with incredible results. 5 |

A great 'starter' camera for those getting into DSLR. This will be our camera for the next decade. Easy to use, quick settings, and plentiful megapixels. Been using it and learning it for two weeks - have recommended it to family and friends. 5 |

Camera has met all of my hopes thus far. I was looking for a entry level dslr, which was good in low light, fast, had good automatic settings as well as the full manuel option. The Pentax K-x does all this and more! Some people mentioned problems with the battery life, but i have had none. With the batteries supplied i have already taken 500+ pictures in all conditions and settings. This includes the cold midwest weather, in a ice arena (10F). 5 |

This clapper has good visiblity creates a good audible reference between the reference mic and the main mix mic for easy alignment between audio and video. This is being used with DSLR Video recored to off camera tascam. The white background allows for good dry erase maker use and has plenty of space to denote camera settings, Media settings, scenes and takes, although lacks compressive layout for DSLR shots. You have to be a little creative for the dry erase blocks. 5 |

Exactly the camera I've been waiting to buy for years: interchangeable lenses, DSLR quality pictures, but half the weight and size of a usual entry-level DSLR. Warning to owners of point-and-shoot cams: if you don't know a lot about photography, and don't want to learn: get a different cam. Unless you can invest the time and effort and have the interest to learn, you're better off with something like a Canon G11. The menu structure is a bit of a hassle at the beginning: it took me about one week and 1000 shots to get the settings right. Once you're there, however, you're unlikely to change the settings frequently; so I don't consider it a real con. The only real con is the auto-focus speed: it takes about 0.6 secs to focus, which is not suitable for things which move quickly and unpredictable, like sports, kids, flying birds. 5 |

Once you get all the settings right on your camera your off and running. 5 |
