Setup Guest Network Spectrum Router

I wish I bought this sooner, but better late than never. This router is fantastic. It has replaced five google mesh units in my house with this single router. I get signal three houses down the street on my phone. It has been a major improvement in regards to gaming and other configurable QoS. Ditch all your mesh garbage and get a solid router like this and it makes life a lot easier. Remember, PC 6E cards are super cheap so do the upgrade and use the full power of this router. I also have a house full of phones doing 6E and it's working great. The guest network options are also super useful for me where I can have guest networks for work, iot devices around the house, and then my regular network for my family. 5 |

Fast Router. Feels like a quality made product, more like an industrial or enterprise product feel. I have my SB8200 cable modem on eth0, home office on eth1, and Linksys mesh network on eth2. It took me about 30 mins to setup being new to this type of router. Used basic wizard to setup. Made sure NAT was enabled. Firewall is enabled. I had to reset cable modem to get things going. I used various videos on you tube for setup help. Router CPU and RAM barely get used during testing of several 4K Video Streams, ip phone calls, file transfers, and speed tests running at the same time. My COX gigablast connection runs at full speed most of the time. I still need to do some real throughput testing, machine to machine on local network. I use Airflow and VLC to cast 4K content from home office to my living room entertainment center. I definitely noticed a time difference. It simply takes less time for actions to engage and finish. I can tell it has a better brain. Time will tell with reliability but I suspect it will be my router for a long time. So far, I'm happy with its performance. 5 |

Had standard cable modem/router from spectrum. This one is much better (build and performance)! Setup was easy and flawless! 5 |

So I have a rather complicated home network. I plugged in the router and then satellite and then pushed sync button on the router and then satellite. Downloaded the app and was basically done. I made a few minor changes to suit my needs and was done. The Orbi worked just fine along side my current routers/ap and extender with any issue. This was the easiest setup of a home network device I have sern in 20 years. I always help others setup their home networks and will be suggesting Orbi only going forward. 5 |

I first heard about the ER-X on the Security Now podcast and then after purchasing it, heard a few more people talk about it on other infosec podcasts. It was easy to setup, and I like the UI quite a bit. I did have to look online and in the manual to determine how to accomplish a couple different tasks. My only desire, and this is no fault of Ubiquiti, is that I would have purchased the 8 port router. 5 is not enough for my home network. I am not a power user per se but I did need to setup DCHP reservations and do some basic monitoring of network traffic both of which were easy to do. I would definitely recommend this router to anyone looking for something more robust than your standard big box store router. 5 |

Great router. Granular setup when logged into rather than using an app. Internet speed on home network tripled. The old wifi 5 router could not absorb the bandwidth being provided by the cable company. Buy it. You won't be disappointed! 5 |

I purchased this router along with a UAP-AC-LR access point. They work great together and the configuration allows me to power both units with a single power brick. At some point I may get a second access point, and this configuration allows for some expansion. In terms of setup, there are a wizards which will allow you to get up and running quickly. I personally did not find find this router's GUI any more confusing than others that I have used. Setting up any wireless network takes some fiddling, so if you are having trouble figuring things out yourself, ask your tech savvy friend for help! One thing I will say is that this router does allow for one to shoot themselves in the foot due to its vast configuration options. My router is connected directly to a CenturyLink fiber box for internet. This requires somewhat of a custom setup as it uses PPPoE and a special VLAN setting. Well, it turns out that after setting all of that up, I had somehow disabled the firewall and did not realize it until I saw a couple of failed login attempts in the security log. Long story short is to double check your settings before heading out to lunch :) Oh, and stability is amazing :) I am currently showing 2 weeks and 6 days of up time and still trucking along strong. Overall, it seems that building a home network using a separate router and access points is the way to go. I am very happy that I decided to move away from the all-in-one model. 5 |

I have purchased this router to add to my existing eero 6 setup (router + extender). Adding it to the network was quick and painless. I purchased a router instead of another extender because I needed the ethernet port for accessories and everything worked well plugged in. The eero app is also much nicer than the Linksys one I used in my previous wifi system. 5 |
