Share Team Drive Folder Outside Organization

This took about 1 hour to completely set up and get my brother remotely connected. Overall, this is great for setting up a share. The only inconvenience is that a single folder cannot be shared with the same person. By this I mean that I can place files in a folder and share that folder with a link. But if that person has a modification to the file, they need to set up their own share on my BeeStation device via Synology account (created if they don't already have one). It would be nicer if we both can read/write to a single shared folder.

While having a NAS that supports RAID 5 & 6 is nice, but it's so much more than that. You can share folder access on the internet, run web server, record surveillance cameras, stream audio and video throughout the home. There are too many apps and options worth having this for to mention here. Performance has been amazing, and it's upgradable in several ways including SSD Cache, 10GB ethernet and more.

These units are purchased by my organization for use in remote areas to share educational videos to indigenous peoples. They can literally be heard over the next mountain or two! They are tough as nails and have super clarity. One unit usually works well for every sized group from a few meeting in a small room to hundreds on a mountainside. The fact that it's multi-volt and has two microphone jacks is also very helpful. We gave up on Anchor-brand units since they kept burning up/blowing out and simply weren't as versatile and tough, and were more expensive. The guys in the field using them all the time are now demanding only this unit.

This drive has been dependable for me as well as very fast. Liked it well enough to buy three more for my team.

Quality folder.

I use this Hard Drive to store movies, and Share them across my network. Sharing must be allowed, but the Drive itself is 100% Plug-and-Play. Transfer rate is Fast using a USB 2 connection. The drive comes with a special USB cable. The drive is powered by the USB port. Very simple to install and use.

Outside and inside- like to immerse myself in music and Sonos allows me to do that!

Simple to install - just plug it in and the drive shows up on my folder directory. It delivers over 200 MB/sec transfer rates on my Windows 10 i7 desktop. I'm using it for offloading large data files from my active computer drives to to minimize the nightly backup. This is my third WD Elements hard drive, and they have always been reliable.

I use this drive to back up files from my desktop that I take with me when I travel. Having no interest in WD's backup software, I was concerned that the software would be preinstalled and difficult to remove, as was the case with previous generation Passport dirves. The software is NOT preinstalled, but resides as an executable file in a folder on the drive: If you do not want the software, simply do not install it. This folder also contains some useful diagnostic utilities and installing those is the easiest way to register the drive, which I recommend. After I did that, I moved the entire folder to another drive, which leaves a completely empty drive. Although some users of 5400 RPM drives claim that they are not appropriate for storage, I have never found this to be the case. I have large RAW and .tif files as well as .wavs and various video files and all work fine. This drive is quiet and runs cool. Although it does not have an off switch, unplugging it is not a problem. It is a USB 3.0 drive, but functions fine with USB 2.0. A SATA connection would be nice, but I've had no issues with speed whatsoever.
