I debated between the Nikon lens and the sigma art 105. Reviews indicate that the sigma is slightly sharper, but the Nikon is an excellent lens. I chose the Nikon because some of the reviews said that the sigma focus would sometimes have trouble following moving subjects. In addition to still subjects, I wanted to use the lens to photograph kids basketball for our church. The Nikon 105 focused well for this purpose and gave great images. The Nikon is also lighter and smaller than the sigma art, and therefore easier to carry around and to pack in a camera bag. 5 |

Lens appears well built - as reviews indicated, lens is a little soft at f1.4 but for my purpose this is useful, at f2.0 it gives a sharper image and greater depth. Satisfied with purchase. 5 |
