I got this back in Nov. 2016 and have shot many night time-lapses, including astral time-lapses. Having progressed through many other lenses over the years for this type of shooting, I have found this lens to be the best so far. I also have the Canon 16-35 f/2.8 and Canon 14mm. Both are nice lenses and got lots of use. But this Rokinon is noticeably clearer. I like the all-manual focus and aperture rings. It's a little heavy compared to my other lenses but the results are so good, I'm looking hard at getting more of this brand of lens for my video camera when I'm ready to expand that system. I set the focus to infinity during day-light hours and put some tape over the focus ring to keep it from getting knocked out of adjustment, then go do my night shooting and the stars never looked better. I use it with a Canon 6D and 7D, and have just got my 5D MK4 but have not tried it yet. I expect it will be a great combo. 5 |

I do a lot of shooting at the beach and sometimes get caught off-guard by an incoming wave. The result is hours worth of tearing down the tripod - cleaning out sand, drying and re-assembling the tripod. I have an Op/Tech raincoat for my camera - now I have them for my tripod legs. They work great! Now, if I only had a raincoat for me.... 5 |
