Shooting In Great Neck Today

This filter performed great, i tested it today with a Neumann U87i with various male and female vocals; the response was crystal clear on the highs and very natural lows, compared to fabric filters which tends to cut a little of the very high end and sometimes resonate with some of the lows specially if someone blows straight into them. The clamp holds it in the right position without having to overtighten the thumbscrew, the neck also works very fine letting you place it wherever you need, although I think a longer neck would make the whole thing better.

This is a really great alternative to the traditional round-the-neck camera strap. Much better for shooting on the go...I use it with a sling bag so its always easy to store. The only drawback for me is that I have to remove it to use my travel jobu tripod.

I have several original Nikon AN-4B straps in leather from the 1960's. Even though well worn, they are still fully usable and reliable. But by today's standards, and by my aging body, they are too narrow around the neck and no longer comfortable. Enter the new generation AN-4B. Just right for today. The right width around the neck with a non-slip layer, then tapering down to the correct width for stock Nikon triangular loops that come with most new Nikon cameras, and are identical to what came with Nikon cameras of 50 years ago. No bright logos, flexible so that when camera is in the bag, does not take up any room, adjustable to the perfect length. What more can one want? The price is right, when one see's all these fancy designer straps for upwards of a hundred dollars or more.

This is such a fun camera to shoot with, even had on my neck for the 4 hours at the zoo and was fine. For the $$$ shooting outside this lens is great, I had no trouble shooting freehand at 800ISO and should of dropped because shutter was way fast. The auto focusing was near flawless even with the various birds. Wish I could try 100-500mm to see what I'm missing because this lens is awesome.

I prefer using this vs the neck strap, very handy for city shooting, i feel safer having this on while i take pictures on the go.

Last day of shooting on a short film today (Saturday) and I saw on Thursday that we were going to get a lot of wind, and boy did we! Fortunately I bought this and paid the $15ish for expedited delivery and it arrived Friday morning. We had some pretty powerful gusts, but this thing did a great job of dealing with that. Of course you can still hear the wind on the trees, crops, etc. but I'm not hearing much that's effecting the mic itself. Still able to record dialog just fine. DaVinci Resolve's vocal isolation feature is doing quite a bit to help clear the background noise out, but without this cover I doubt there would have been much dialog for the program to be able to isolate.

I'll make this short - It took a lot of guts for Panasonic to build this camera. It is, by far, the LEAST crippled camera I have ever owned or ever seen in 25 years. Panasonic simply added every possible pro, high-end feature into this camera with absolutely no fear of it cannibalizing their higher models. (it's bizarre to see this much in a camera like this!) This sensor is spectacular and I strongly believe it is a very close relative to the Sony IMX410 or IMX310. It's dynamic range and signal to noise ratio are almost identical to the Sony FX9. The cooling fan gives this 100% reliability and unlimited 6k shooting. The CODEC and frame rate options are stunning. The image quality is every bit as high as ANY camera today can produce and ANY price....and Netflix agrees! I have been shooting Sony my whole life and Panasonic has successfully stolen me way with this camera. I sold my FS7 and was going to buy the FX9 but I chose this instead and I'm extremely happy for doing so. I will definitely use the S1H as my A cam more than I did with my FS7. It's basically an FX9 or Varicam or Alexa that is MUCH easier to carry around. Raw over HDMI will be another crazy addition to this thing that is coming soon. I praise Panasonic managers for having the marketing guts to actually approve and build this fearless camera! It's hard to believe this camera actually exists on Earth today. It breaks all the industry rules!....BRAVO!!
