Should Lithium Batteries Be Fully Discharged
Richard | 2024-06-01 02:15:43 |
Lithium Ion batteries are notoriously mislabeled for capacity. I use these for camera stabilizers and flashlights, and expect performance. This Nitecore battery provides the full labeled current with minimal voltage drop. I have cycled one of my three four times, and performance was fully maintained. The only issue was with my chargers - the batteries would show fast charging, but never quite finish. Removing the battery and reinserting showed a fully charged battery, suggesting an issue with both chargers. Performance is very good. 5 |

A friend of mine were on location to photograph a rare bird. My friend's camera battery was fully discharged! Fortunately we have the same camera and by sharing my battery we both got the photos we were after. That experience convinced me to always have a spare fully charged battery with me on photo outings. 5 |

10' cables are the way to go. Plenty of length to get to where you need to be. 5 |

Nothing beats these lithium batteries...they don’t die. 5 |

Have not used them much yet, but they seem to last well. Large batteries seem well made so far. Great value, but they require about five hours to recharge from being discharged. Not too bad for this capacity battery, though. 5 |

These are simple but super high quality items that work perfectly. I use them in AAA, AA & C sizes. They have a little tab which adds enough pressure to hold the battery(s) securely in place, but you can push batteries out as you need with one hand. There are 2 distinct ends. One closed but with a little opening for the + terminal and an open end where the battery slides in and out. I put my charged batteries in with the + terminal side in first and my discharged batteries in with the - side first. So looking at the holder, I can instantly see which batteries are charged or discharged. These are great little holders when say shooting flash as you can have one or two little 4 packs of AA's in your pocket or bag and not worry about 1 or 2 batteries getting lost.My only issue with this item is with B&H. First, B&H has the best price I've seen on these anywhere, however B&H doesn't ship these from Brooklyn but instead drop ships them from Illinois. So even if you're buying a $500 flash, you still need to pay an additional $ shipping on your $ worth of battery holders. (But even w/ shipping B&W's prices are still the best.) These are fantastic little items that I highly recommend. 5 |

Bought two of these to store spare LPE6 batteries for my BMPCC6k. Helps keep my batteries organized so that I know which ones are charged or discharged. It's nice to be able to toss these in my bag without worrying about it getting damaged. 5 |

Even brand-new batteries are coming in completely discharged. My problem started when I left 2 AD400 Flash Heads sitting unused for 2 years. When I went to charge them, one of the batteries eventually responded (after half an hour on the charger). The other battery was shipped out to a maintenance shop to be reset ($40). The repair shop returned the battery with a 70% charge. There were no new AD400 batteries available for purchase, anywhere. B&H would not accept an order for this battery. Only way to obtain a battery was to purchase another flash. About a month later, B&H began accepting battery orders. This Godox Li-ion battery, purchased from B&H, arrived completely discharged, zero led lights on the charger. However, it charged normally (about an hour). Works great. The lessons learned: these AD400Pro batteries self-discharge quickly. Should be charged on some sort of schedule to 70% charge!! Consider purchasing some spares.?? 5 |

The best thing about this charging hub is that you can not only charge 3 batteries sequentially, but you can set the charger for storage mode so that the batteries are discharged or charged (whichever is needed) to 50%, which is the recommended storage charge level. I wish DJI made a charger like this for the Inspire instead of just for the Phantom! 5 |
