Had two 1490's that held microphones & drum parts,in another life....realized they were idle & empty in the attic. Got 'em out,dusted 'em off,ordered replacement O-rings & (2) #1491 3 piece P&P foam sets....to top it off: Customer Service @ Pelican sent me new keys,free! Now they are home to my better knives,multitools,firestarters, flashlights,a small camera....and one Wesson each: a Dan & a Smith! The ONLY thing I would change about these cases is: I could really use one more! 5 |

Great for drum overheads and guitar amps. I'd highly recommend them if you are looking to get into ribbon microphones. 5 |

Purchased two SM81-LC - Cardioid Condenser Mic by Shure to use for drum overheads. The bomb! These mics do not color the sound. What you hear when you play is what you will hear out of the mixer. Fantastic mics. I don't have any other instrument condensers to compare them to, and I will never need to. It couldn't get any better than this. I'm using recorderman setup with two additional mics on bass drum and bottom of snare. This is perfect for recording drums. Sounds fantastic on conga too! 5 |

Im a drummer and this shure mic sounds killer on snare drum,it has a different sound than a regular sm 57 more if a vintage type. 5 |
