Shure Dj Headphones

When Shure announced they were discontinuing their carts, I was gutted as they set the bar for me as both a DJ and audiophile. After trying a few with no success, the reviews led me to the Club. Out of the box, with only a 3 gram adjustment, I was up and running. A minute in, I knew I struck gold as it handled Daft Punk's Random Access Memories with low end punch, power, and beautiful highs. Much better than the Ortofon Red, the DJ unit plays like a Hi-Fi cart (almost as good as the Blue) with the ability to back cue and even scratch. It truly is an amazing cart for the price, one that will truly satisfy SHURE 44-7 purists like myself and one that even looks deadly (with swappable coloured arms!!) I could go on but I'll save you from my drool. Yes, it is that good.

Mobile DJ since 2001. Previous owner of Shure and Sennheiser systems. Have used Audix R61 receivers weekly (mostly at weddings) since early 2017, they are rock solid units! TRUE DIVERSITY (dual tuners) indeed! Have not had a SINGLE signal drop out indoors or outdoors, (64MHz frequency band is awesome) even in the super busy RF environment of Southern California. We typically use 2-3 units at the same time. The range is outstanding also, we are often about 100 ft away (advertises a huge 450 ft range, haven't had to do that..) and with up to 200 guests between receiver and bodypacks, still no issues. Very easy setup, and has great features like locking the transmitter so no accidental 'mutes' occur. R61 has a massive amount of tunable frequencies if you need them. The construction is metal and quite solid. Shure and Sennheiser rule the mobile DJ world of wireless, but after speaking with Audix at NAMM 2017, I went with their system and have not looked back. I have since had two other colleagues see/hear the system, and although they were lifetime Shure users, bought an Audix 60 series system. The few reviews you will find rave about them as well. I think it is the current sleeper system that doesn't get a lot of attention, but performs extremely well. Highly recommend. The only downside is the R61 receivers, and the 60 series in general, are of course more expensive than the '40' series, and not typically in stock...anywhere. It takes a few extra days to get to you but it is worth the wait to ensure perfect events, especially wedding ceremonies, with rock solid signal thanks to the true diversity dual tuners.

I have a side gig as PA announcer for a local university and they decided to employ a DJ for their basketball games this year. He plays so loud it adversely affects my hearing and my equilibrium during and after the games. I have used a Shure WH20XLR headset for 20 years but it has no earpads for passive noise reduction. The A-T BPHS-1 has changed my announcing experience. I don't use the 1/4" plug since I don't need to hear my own voice so I just plug the XLR cable into my switch box and talk away. It greatly reduces the DJ music but I can still converse with the officials and fellow workers at the scorers table. The best part is being able to remove the headset after the game and not feel fatigued from battling all of the noise. The A-T also has a better frequency response than my Shure in addition to being more sensitive so I don't have to shout to be heard and my voice comes across deeper as well. It is extremely well made and I have not experienced any of the creaking issues mentioned in other reviews. The boom mike stays where you put it and you don't have to have the windscreen right up against your mouth.

Using the Shure MV88plus is a very great experience for me because being a local Dj on the internet Really makes my music sound so much better.

Great headphones. I own several Shure headphones, both for travel and for studio use. The SE215 do not disappoint, great for travel.

Sennheiser never disappoints! Been a Dj for over 20 years and these are the best headphones I've owned!!!

Came with the pioneer DJ headphones and worked as expected; and unlike the headphones themselves it's meant for this cable is built well.

I have now tried 4 different headphones: Sony MDR-7506, Beyer DT990, Sennheiser HD650, Shure SRH1840. My intent was to find headphones that I could mix with, sounded suitably neutral, and have a similar response to my Yamaha HS7s, and to my HiFi which I use as an audio reference (Naim 42/110, into Rogers Studio One speakers..) Here are my conclusions/comments 1. Sony 7506: great for tracking; decent response, good isolation(I have two pairs of these..) 2. Beyer DT990: too much bass plus a sibilant top end, and 'scooped' mids. I did not like the sound of these. Returned. 3. Senn HD650: better than the Beyers but still an over-emphasized bottom end. Nice for general listening through a good headphone amp, but not good for mixing. Returned. 4. Shure SRH1840: best of the bunch, and sound very similar to the HS7s in my home studio. Bass is tight and responsive, and seems faithful to the intent of the recording. Also sound pretty close to my 'reference' hi-fi system. These are keepers. I wish that they were made in the USA.. !

The Pioneer DJ HDJ-X5 are simply excellent headphones, superior to many far more expensive. First they pickup the full spectrum of sounds with clarity and strength, from the lowest to the highest, balanced and without distortion. Also they are extremely well made, made to be durable and long lasting. They are the best I have bought in the last 50 years and I have bought many.
