Shure Dmk57 52 Drum Microphone Kit Review

2024-09-24 05:49:48

I have a 6 piece kit that I am using this microphone set for. I have never used any other drum mics, so I cannot compare it to others. However, I am very satisfied by the quality these mics provide. I am a former professional, but now retired and playing and recording drums as a hobby. For this purpose, these mics are fine.

The words are short, it's a Shure microphone ...

These stands are just right for several pro applications. Strong enough for our D112's or Beta 52's on kick drum or the ever popular uber-versatile SM57 for guitars etc. It's small footprint let's me sneak it into tight drum kits where larger base stands fear to tread. Saving trailer space is another plus as I can transport 4 of these babies in the same area as one of our round boom stands. Can't think of any downsides as this was a second purchase of these particular stands. Try em - you won't be disappointed!

3 SM57's? AND a beta 52 kick drum mic?! Hello! This is a great little package! Very versatile for lots and lots of different applications. Who doesn't use 57's? The drum rim mounting system is very well designed and built solidly but apart from live applications not much use in the studio as it can damage the tone of the drums. Lovely little molded plastic case for the kit to sit in between uses. Very happy with mine.

Great shure microphone either hardwired or paired with the Shure Axient wireless system. I am replacing all of my microphone inventory with the TL47b Microphone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My voice is much clearer than a microphone that I have a lot. I really liked this. I’ve actually bought a new microphone for both of them and to be held since mid-May. If you compare it in terms of price performance, the Thronmax M5 is much more successful than the Shure microphonw, and there is serious price difference. Shure requires a lot of gains which my pre-amp can’t deliver so M5 gets the winning vote. It is unrivaled especially in streaming performance, it minimizes the sound of the keystrokes and computer fan.

All I can say is Wow. You'll have to hear it to believe it. I tried it with a Shure SM7B microphone.

I recently build a Kick-Sub Microphone. In essence, you grab a loose speaker 6-12 and connect an XLR end to it and use it as a microphone for the Kick drum. The issue with doing this is that the signal comes out really strong. This unit is perfect for that as you can dial in your attenuation. It attenuates from 5db, 10db, 20db, 30db, 40db, all the way down to 50db. So, depending on how far I place that mic to the Kick drum, I can adjust the microphone to make sure it doesn't clip. The only thing I will say negative about it is that it is made of plastic. The construction quality doesn't seem great and for the price you would want a metal unit with much tighter tolerances. But I'm not planning to swing it around from the cable and smash things with it, so unless, I'm stepping on it constantly, I'm assuming it should last a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a portable drum kit. It comes with 7 different drum pads and 2 foot pedals. It can connect to other devices by bluetoooth and has a decent battery. My kids really enjoyed this and had fun with it. A great way to play drums without buying a full kit.
