Shure Mv88 Portable Ios Microphone For Iphone

Need a quick, portable run and gun microphone? I've been using this Saramonic IOS system with an Ipad for nearly a year now..it WORKS! No-fuss or muss takes longer for the iPad to boot up and connect to FB Live Stream than it does to get this system on your talent and begin. Streaming. Just purchased a second unit, the NEW pro version with a headphone jack on a separate receiver to monitor audio in real-time..AWESOME 5 |

I use this powerful little Mv88 / Shire mic, and great Manfrotto Pixi almost daily for Facebook Live streaming via my iPhone, paired with the MOTIV App you’re really set up for easy and intuitive streaming. The MV88 preforms very well indoors, and pretty good outdoors with the windjammer / Rycote jacket Shure makes for this puppy. It was worth every penny as I love to stream great sunsets and sunrises! If you need a good set for V-blogs or streaming, look no further. I am one happy customer with this product. Thanks Shure & B&H. Cheers to a great year ahead! 5 |

We run a professional television studio where clients occasionally require teleprompter service. The teleprompter software we use is PromptSmart Pro (Ver. 2.1.3) with VoiceTrack auto-scrolling on a 10.2 in. 7th Gen iPad. The Prompt Smart voice recognition works best with an external mic. After researching many mics for this application, we chose the Shure MV88+ for its outstanding quality and features. The MV88+ mic and app are well made and easy to use. It allows you to choose and adjust various electronic performance attributes to suit the environment of your shoot. Though we were looking at less expensive mics in this class, you get what you pay for, and in my opinion the value of this microphone exceeds its price. Last week, at the end of a full-day production, the Creative Director for the production team came to me and said, “The teleprompter has made all the difference in taking the stress out of our production. It has performed flawlessly.” I highly recommend this the Shure MV88+ for tablet or phone recording and/or voice- activated teleprompting. We are considering buying a second Shure MV88+ for use with two camera teleprompter productions because both teleprompters will track the talent’s voice simultaneously. 5 |

I'm using this microphone with a portable digital recorder, and the combo is great. This mic is typical of Shure products; it's rugged and sounds great. This model is the omnidirectional version - I also have a couple MX393/C which have a cardioid pattern. 5 |

The MV88+ is a very nice mic. The clip holds my iPhone (in its protective case) securely in either portrait or landscape position. The MOTIV app has worked very well. Haven't used the small tripod yet (using a large one), but it seems very solid. Have been using the kit to quickly and easily record music videos for social media and have achieved good quality - without having to mess with multiple mics and a more complicated interface. 5 |

I’ve owned the lightning MV88 in the past and now the MV88+ (it was on sale and couldn’t pass it up). I won’t go into all the details because you probably know them all by now, but I’ll mention a few things. First, it’s beefier than the MV88 Lightning version. Getting it into the clamp is a bit of a tight fit so not sure how many times you want to be taking it in and out, or how long before the the clamp may last until it one day breaks. Shure however does sell a replacement if needed, but it seems fairly sturdy. Good sounding mic and I use the app software up to a point, but further refinements in post helps. On my iPhone 11, recording at 4K / 30, the phone battery will last abut 2 and half to just under three hours using the mic. So if you have some long extended recording (a music concert etc) just be aware. There’s workarounds with that since you can hook up a battery and use the apple camera connector dongle (the usb/lightning one) and power the iPhone for as long as you have storage, if needed. With the recent iPhones having MagSafe, my concern is about future proofing. Will future iPhones have a port AT ALL? I bought the MV88+ thinking the IPhone may move to USB-C (a cable is provided with the MV) but now the tea leaves seem to read that USB-C, or any port, may not be in Apples future. So how will I connect the MV88+? For now though, its fine and I’m happy with the purchase. If you’re thinking about 5 years down the line though, the future is uncertain. 5 |

I whole heartedly recommend this Mic. Great at a rock concert setting as it handles high volumes really well. One thing that strikes me the most is the dynamic range. I used it to record performances of Phil Collins at Madison Square Garden (from a considerable distance) and then for Steve Hackett in March of last year just before the co vid shutdown. Steve Hackett was extra special because I was in the front row and the MV88+ combined with my iPhone 11 Pro Max produced a glorious sound mix - and the drums came across with aplomb. Search me on YT and you can hear for yourself just how great sound can be on a simple iPhone. Do be careful with the cables though. Recording handheld for an extended period made my hand rub up against the Lightning cord where it enters the iPhone and I did lose audio from the Shure MV88 from time to time (getting a spare cable may make some sense as I already switched out the original). Lastly I would add that purchasing from B&H is a no brainer, especially at the current discounted price (and if you don’t have PayBoo, what are you waiting for!) 5 |
