Shure Sm7B Recording Microphone

I bought this product as another microphone for singing/podcast recording purposes. I've used Shure SM7B, which is legendary for many great reasons, but this microphone is my new favorite! I would highly recommend this mic to anyone who does voiceover, singing, and podcast work. It is pricey, but it definitely pays off!

All I can say is Wow. You'll have to hear it to believe it. I tried it with a Shure SM7B microphone.

Have been exclusively using Shure SM7B with Grace Design M101, it works well, but really wanted to add a shotgun condenser mic. Sennheiser 416 was a yeah, maybe someday dream -- until watching Booth Junkie A/B review of the 416 and Synco Mic-D2. To my ear, the 416 does have a brighter top end, but, for my voice, I prefer the sound of the Synco -- and I could afford one TODAY! So now I use the SM7B for long-form sit-down recording at my editing desk and the Mic-D2 for short-form stand-up recording in my booth. Both have their role and both mics deliver great results!

The Shure SM7B sounds incredible... when appropriately used. The first important thing to note is that this microphone is very quiet, so it needs about 50-60db of gain to get its signal up to usable volumes. Not all audio interfaces are created equal in this regard, so make sure yours has enough juice to power it. I needed to max out a Focusrite 18i8 (2nd gen)'s gain to get audible sound from it. Cranking your preamp's gain up so high may come with a price, and that's a low humming sound. It is possible to remedy this by providing the needed gain digitally or by adding a gate to the signal that targets and removes the hum, which is how I first heard the true potential of this microphone and became enamored by it. However, I ultimately opted to get a Cloudlifter CL-1 to do away with said hum and get a clean signal from the get-go. It works perfectly now. I can't recommend it enough.

Using this with a Shure SM7B Vocal Microphone and K&M PopKiller. I did have to use bungee cords in order to help support the weight on the Rode PSA1 Studio Boom Arm for Broadcast Microphones.

I recently added the Shure SM7B to my podcasting arsenal, pairing it with the Rodecaster Pro II, and the results have exceeded my expectations. **Effortless Setup: 5/5** The integration with the Rodecaster Pro II was seamless. The fact that the Rodcaster Pro II came pre-programmed for the SM7B made the setup a breeze. Within minutes, I was ready to hit record, thanks to the hassle-free configuration. **Outstanding Audio Quality: 5/5** The Shure SM7B's performance in the low frequencies is nothing short of amazing. The richness it adds to the lows is a game-changer for my podcast. The clarity is exactly what you'd desire for any vocal-centric content. It captures the nuances of my voice beautifully, making each episode sound professional and polished. **Versatility at its Best: 4.5/5** While specifically purchased for podcasting, the SM7B has proven its versatility. It adapts seamlessly to various vocal needs, making it a reliable choice not just for podcasters but also for anyone with diverse audio recording requirements. **Efficiency in Design: 4/5** The microphone's design exudes a classic and professional aesthetic. While it may not be the lightest option, the weight feels justified by the durable build. It instills confidence in its ability to withstand regular use. **Highly Recommended: 5/5** In conclusion, the Shure SM7B has significantly enhanced my podcasting experience. From its effortless integration with the Rodecaster Pro II to the remarkable audio quality, it stands out as a top-tier microphone. If you're serious about achieving exceptional audio for your podcast or any vocal projects, I highly recommend the Shure SM7B. Make the Shure SM7B your go-to microphone and take your podcasting journey to new heights.

I've using the Titan for a very odd use: as a microphone arm for a Shure SM7b, in a location that doesn't have enough space for normal scissors-style mic arm. It has more than enough strength to support both the mic plus a gain booster plugged straight into the mic, and it allows me to swing the mic up and out of the way quite easily. Build is as you'd expect at this price: solid as a rock. I expect this to last forever. Overall: it's pricey, but worth it.

The Shure SM7B is the standard as advertised. It may be the most versatile microphone in its price range. Novice and pro will get what they need from this product - a quality mic that lasts. As with most dynamic mics, pairing the SM7B with a powerful mic preamp or inline gain booster is recommended.

I use the SM7B for recording male vocals and, occasionally, to do a podcast. This microphone has excellent presence and is very forgiving when used for vocals. The bass and the middle are smooth, and the highs are exact without being unpleasant. Little tweaking is needed to make it sound good. Highly recommended for similar uses!

Holds the Shure SM7b like a champ. No issues at all.
