Shut Down Computer With Keyboard Mac

The Apple Wireless Keyboard is a convenient way of saving the use my keyboard on my Mac Book pro. I also love the grey steel color because it matches my computer. It truly makes a fashion statement. I bought the keyboard to save the use of my computer keyboard.

It was easy to hook up and install the software to shut down the computer unattended.

I received this fine keyboard and mouse and find both superb, especially given the ridiculously great price from B&H. Who ever heard of any good computer product for this price? But the problem for Mac users is that there are no usable function keys for all the special Mac functions: EXPOSE and others. After receiving this two days ago, I began using it heavily in my work as a visual artist. The keyboard performs great and so does the mouse. But when I realized I had no special function keys, I immediately called Kensington to see if there were some work-around ways to get those special Mac features. There are not, and the Kensington rep specifically told me they have no keyboards that will provide such Mac features. Instead of trying to return this to B&H, I decided to keep the set because I need a new wired mouse anyway. And a back-up keyboard is always a good idea if you use your computer for work. By the way, I ought to mention that I wanted wired everything because my beloved wife has electromagnetic hypersensitivity, and all wireless devices producing RF are grim for her. I have a special plastic covering the front of my iMac that reduces RF emissions to an extremely low level. So now the whole set-up is safe for her to be near, even though she cannot USE the computer herself. I have now ordered another keyboard from B&H (MAFK318B) that specifically states it supports all Mac function keys. I gave a five-star rating because of the quality of the set. I don't want its reputation downgraded just because it did not work in every way on my computer.

I bought the i7 version with 32 gig of RAM. Build quality is excellent. Very lightweight for the performance. Runs cooler than any laptop I have ever owned. My one complaint is the lack of dedicated Page Up/Down Home and End keys. You have to press a function key in combination with one of the four cursor arrow keys to move up or down quickly. My 2020 HP Spectre X360 is almost exactly the same size as the Dragonfly, yet HP managed to fit dedicated Home, End and Page Up/Down keys on the keyboard. For a high end laptop like the Dragonfly, it's inexplicable that they could not fit dedicated versions of these four frequently used keys on the keyboard. Other than this one issue, the laptop is fast and a perfect travel companion. The built in full size HDMI port is a nice touch for connecting an external monitor or projector. The touchpad is responsive and accurate. Battery life is great so far. Despite my one complaint about the keyboard, I would buy it again, but for this price, one expects perfection, not almost perfection.

I've only had this SSD installed in my Mac Pro Tower for a few days, but already I love it. I can shut down and restart in 32 seconds (timed it with a stopwatch!). The SSD was installed in the second optical bay, connected to the motherboard and power supply with a tangle of cables, which required a fair amount of disassembly of my Mac Pro (maybe 30 minutes of work). That's my only (minor) complaint and it's got nothing to do with the drive itself. I just installed the operating system and applications on this, and altogether they take up less than 20 GB of space, leaving plenty of room for OS X's virtual memory. Photoshop and other programs start up very quickly. I have all my data and images on SATA hard drives installed in the regular drive bays. Now I'm wondering if I shouldn't upgrade those to SSDs as well.

Back up mac computer

This is used in a home office. I have a problem with power outages and this UPS works terrific at protecting my electronics. This has a really nice software package that warns of possible troubles and shuts the computer off (if necessary)properly. It has plenty of battery to hold the computer and monitor for 15 minutes, plenty of time to shut down programs and shut the computer down safely. I have not had any problems and have been using this for about 2 months now. It just works great!

I purchased this because the place I'm currently living in has terrible electrical. If I turn on the microwave while the AC in running, EVERYTHING in the apartment shuts off!! So I have this UPS next to my computer desk so that in the event the electrical does shut off again, Ill be able to safely shut down my computer so I can go all the way down to the basement to turn the power back on. I plan to get another one for my TV and consoles.

I bought this for my second computer. The first one I bought performed perfectly; it handles power-outs seamlessly and lets me shut down without loss of data.

Like the USB feature that it can integrate with the desktop computer via the app and able to shut down the pc automatically when battery capacity is low (even though I've not got the chance to test it yet).
