Sigma Digital Camera Sd14

Great camera, I had Pentax K10d and Sigma SD14 before, but had to sell them, I wanted to get a good and cheap DSLR - and found Pentax k-x, it produces better pics than K10d (due to better low light performance and faster operation) and has very beautiful colors like Sigma SD14. I think for the moneywise it's the Best. 5 |

A real step up for my old Sigma 400mm telephoto lens just adapted for use with my Sony alpha6000 digital camera. The 72mm front element is too big and valuable to leave unprotected and this Hoya clear protector was just the answer. Excellent light admittance made this a great choice for this mid-quality slower lens. Photos are sharp and permit greater latitude for f-stop choices and resultant depth of field. Great purchase! 5 |

I am coming from a Nikon D300 and a Sigma 10-20. After adjusting for the digital factors, I get the same wide angle coverage with a MUCH smaller weight and wonderful photos 5 |

Before going 100% digital I shot Nikon F5 35mm film camera. I had a full complement of Nikkors including the 16mm 2.8 fisheye. When I went digital it was the APS-C cropped sensor that made the fisheye pretty much useless. So I sold it. Now, I am once more full frame with a D600 and D610. I wanted another fisheye and since it won't get the hard use of my other lenses and based on the B&H sales person's recommendation, I went with the Sigma which is considerably less expensive. As has been my long-time experience with B&H, the sales person was correct that the images are comparable to the Nikon. I am not suggesting that the Nikon and Sigma would be equal on an optical test bench. I am saying that in real-world photography, I don't see much of a difference. The Sigma is sharp, fast, and has the distortion you would expect of a fisheye lens. Some of that is mitigated by keeping the horizon centered in the frame. It is a fun lens and is surprisingly handy for candids in, say, a crowded space. 5 |

Great true digital infrared photos by easy do-it-yourself removal of the infrared filter in my Sigma SD15 camera. Putting the SD15 filter back in to restore it back to normal is, for me, less easy but doable. 5 |

I use this on an Elan 7 and a digital Rebel and it replaces my Sigma 14, which had been my workhorse for years. This lens is sharper throughout the frame, with a significantly less distortion at the edges. The only advantage of the Sigma 14 is it's shorter minimum focusing distance, 7.1 to the Canon's 10.8. That and the price. 5 |

This is my first digital long-zoom lens (have been using a wide angle 24-70mm until now). This Sigma lens lives up to its reputation. I'm already enjoying it for distance shots, of birds, etc., as well as macro when I'm out in nature, and am extremely pleased with the results. Can't wait to get out and experiment more with it. B&H is a great company!! 5 |
