Sima Mini Video Zoom Microphone

I have a Sony wireless microphone set but recently i have been using my Canon 5D mark 2 to do video and the kit came with XLR connections. This mini to mini with locking connection allows me to plug directly into my Canon without having to use an XLR to mini converter

I take a lot of video of high school marching bands with my Canon HF20 HD video camera and from the stands the sound usually has a lot of fan noise especially when I use a wide angle lens to get more of the field in view. This microphone picked up all of the sounds of the band from well over 100 feet away and reduced unwanted sounds to a pretty acceptable level. I do this for fun and to build video shows for the kids to see. The combination of great sound with HD quality video makes for a great show. yep, a bit pricy but if better audio (on a Canon video camera with the mini advanced accessory shoe) is what you're looking for it's a great product and very easy to use. The only knock is that from what I can see you can only use the microphone with a mini advanced accessory shoe kind of limiting future uses - if I had any...

I've used several times now for Skype and Zoom calls and very happy with quality of video and microphone

I wanted a webcam that was easy to use, had good video, zoom & pan capabilities and a good microphone. This camera meets all of these criteria. Sometimes it's just me on the Zoom video conference, but at other times there are 3 or 4 of us. The Logitech zoom/pan control app is easy to use and increases the flexibility of this device. Very happy so far with this purchase and B&H was able to ship it quickly!

During the quarantine I (like many people) have had many online meetings using the Zoom video conferencing product. I've found that this microphone does a fantastic job capturing the audio. And, since I'm at home during the meetings, it's great to be able to have the multi-pattern capabilities. When I'm the only one in a conference call, I can use a focused pattern and not capture the noise in my house. However, when several of us are meeting with family members in other locations, it's great to have the microphone set for omnidirectional pickup.

This microphone came highly recommended. I need something for a FB live stream and the microphone and I’m glad I jumped. You need this version (video kit) of you want to record and stream. I found this out after I purchased this one as the cheaper microphone only version was sold out. I’m a musician and I got tons of compliments on the sound. I have a recording studio and really wanted to use my more expensive microphones but was not able to because I had to use either my iPhone or iPad for streaming because of the camera angle I needed. A computer would not have worked for my purposes. I have since also recorded a video and again the sound is surprisingly good. The only bummer is that you cannot use this mic for Zoom or FaceTime. This is not the fault of Shure. It’s because iOS (phones and iPads don’t have the software because APPLE has not updated the software to choose on board mics for these applications. I believe however, you would be able to use this mic for Zoom and FaceTime on your computer. I have not tried that yet so I can not verify. If my information is wrong please correct me but my internet searches seem to corroborate what I have said. The tripod seems well built but I cannot get the ball head to tilt. If it would tilt it would be infinitely more useful. The other accessories are useful and the roll up bag is appreciated. You will be able to charge your device and use this microphone if you use the Apple USB to lightning camera adapter. You can find this info on the Shure website. I followed the directions and it works. Great job Shure and Apple, please update the iOS!

This is a great microphone. It does not require an audio interface. Simply plug it to your computer through USB and there you go! It also has an option for monitoring with zero latency. The default microphone sound level is too quite for my listeners. So, I use peace + equalizer combo software to adjust its dB output level (+18dB). I compared to my Rode Mini USB condenser microphone. Q2U had a more natural sounding and rich audio. Rode mini USB sounded little dull (or muffled). However, Q2U has much more ambient noise which requires more editing time at post production. As a teacher, I do not have extra time for that. So, I prefer Rode mini USB for my lecture recordings and I may use Q2U for broadcasting where recording is not a priority. Finally, this info can be useful to some: Q2U doesn't work with Notability on iPad Pro (3rd Gen), Rode Mini USB does.
