I photograph Horse racing in winter light and weather and performance / dance drama and anything else they'll pay me for. This series of lenses are my go to for remote set ups and people and place images. While the bread and butter are the preserve of the Nikon 70-200 and 300 2.8 As soon as you feel the weight you know that these lenses are high quality, serious equipment. Sure metal and glass is harder to hump round all day than Nikons increasingly plastic OE but the quality of the images produced is worth the wrist strain. The construction and combination of elements produces a minimum of distortion and chromatic abberation is minimal. Beautiful optics coupled with a smooth long travel focusing action. I would and do rather carry 4 of these than the short zooms I used to rely on. I took some images with the 28-70 2.8 two weekends ago and couldn't believe the difference! What was I thinking. Expensive they may be but these will out live me with the minimum of routine maintenance, will take the knocks that full time in the field will deliver. Buy some you won't be dissappointed.

This lens is really really good. I shoot sports and when you move to a player or pan with a fast horse, the focus is right on. Heavy, but worth the price. I work outside in all types of weather, the waterproof/dust-proof feature is great. Horse photo shot at 250mm SS 1/1300, f8, ISO 1000 with Canon 7D Mark II

Forty years of doing all the stick and ball sports plus auto racing for radio and never thought about a dedicated box as a field mixer. I may be dumber than that sounds. The JK Remote X4 is like having a studio on-site without the bulk. Can now run a three-station network on-site with full control. Easy to carry, easy to set up, easy to connect in multiple ways. And with battery power, we can go anywhere now. I've tried to find a negative, but I can't. For my needs, this is perfection.

For sports/racing work, sometimes you need that little extra, and this one is right up there with the Nikon or Canon offerings. Nice and sharp where it counts.

I purchased this head back in 2008 it, it is the best purchase I have made. I use it for sports, (rodeo, baseball, football, hockey, motocross, drag racing, stock car racing) and wildlife all of the time. I have plates permanently attached to my my Nikkor 80-200 2.8, Nikkor 300 2.8 and Sigma 150-500. Although because of the torque with the 300 I had a gunsmith drill a divot into the foot of the 300 tripod mount so that it locks in place. I also use it for outdoor portraits and weddings rather than pack a tripod.
