I had done my slides on a flat-bed scanner. This Wolverine scanner is a pleasure to work with. Slide one slide in, press scan, press OK, repeat for the each subsequent slide. Very easy and very fast. 5 |

I was very nervous prior to using since I had at one time another cheaper scanner which I was very dissatisfied with. Well I put in my slide and scanned it. I then decided to print it for a larger view. Well all my anxieties were calmed down when I had this fantastic looking print. The scans look terrific. It is a great unit. 5 |

For a manual image advance 35mm film strip or mounted slide scanner it produces great high quality scans. The Silverfast software can produce a usable scan from under exposed or overexposed as well as faded original images 5 |

In the midst of a 4000 plus slide scan project my Nikon scanner was troubled so I purchased the Plustek to finish the last 1500 slides of the project. B&H's quick and prompt service saved the day. The scanner arrived in a couple of days. I was suprized that the latest (9) version of LaserSoft was included. Since with the Nikon LS-5000 I was using VueScan I used VueScan to finish the project - it worked well and without incident. The main difference being the extra IR scan instead of one pass for the Digit Ice & picture capability of the Nikon. I suggest that B&H mention in their available accessaries that they carry extra film holders for the scanner which is very helpful when doing multiple scans. 5 |

Just as the name implies, it is a perfection scanner. I purchased this to digitize a slide gallery dating back to 1958. You should see the quality of the photos. like they were orginally taken yesterday. A great value. 5 |

Bought a new scanner and am imbarking on a project to scan from my slide archives. I was glad that some company still has products for archival film storage. Guys my age, who embrace all, appreciate it! 5 |

My main reason for buying this scanner was to digitize 35mm and Stereo Realist slides shot on Kodachrome 64 film. My other scanner (Microtek i700) works fine for reflective material and I need the larger bed. But the slide scans were dreadful: color shifts, blown-out lights and impenetrable darks. The Perfection V600, on the other hand, coupled with Ed Hammrick's excellent VueScan software, gives me slide scans that are nearly spot on in color and contrast: details visible in shadows, almost no color shift, and subtle differences in light areas well-preserved. I can even scan my mounted Stereo Realist slides in their mounts by laying them (carefully) directly on the scanning glass. This saves lots of time otherwise needed for unmounting and remounting the images.Since my main reason for looking for a new scanner was to scan slides, this scanner completely satisfied my needs and wishes. And the price is a bargain, too. 5 |

I love this slide scanner! So far I have scanned around 1600 slides and the unit has performed flawlessly. I suppose there are better quality scanners out there but for my old slides, it works great! 5 |

I have just started to use this scanner. The main reason I bought this model was for digitally capturing a lot of slides. The color correction is excellent; it takes the yellow/red color out and enhances the richness of the 30 year old slides to 90-95% of the original color. I have not used the other features yet. This is pretty much a plug and play. The user's manual on the CD is very limited but meets my needs so far. I have not used the Photoshop CD that came with the scanner. A typical slide scan with a 600-700 pixel, 3-5 Meg file take about 4 minutes per slide. The slide unit holds 4 slides so about 15 minutes to scan 4 slides, so watch TV or read while converting slides. It is worth the time. You need to plug the scanners pig tail into the back of the scanner for slides; this will be obvious when you see the scanner. I am trying to find out why my dark slides show graininess, perhaps there are grains in the original slide? 5 |
