Small Adam Studio Monitor Reviews

I was first introduced to Adam monitors at my previous production position by the head audio engineer. I knew when it came time to upgrade my home studio, Adam monitors were at the top of my short list. I debated on whether getting the Adam A5X models with a subwoofer or just a pair of the A7X. Because my home studio is small with untreated walls I opted in favor of a pair of A7X and no subwoofer. Absolutely no regrets. These things sound so amazing! Plenty of low end. This is one of the single best investments I've ever made for editing HD video. How good are they? My old monitors will soon be listed for sale. 5 |

I had some experience with the earlier generation Adam A7. The new A7X model features some very nice improvements. Where the old A7 seemed to be a little subdued in the 40hz range, the A7X goes down to 40 without difficulty and shows signs of audio as low as 28-30hz. It is hard to beat the ribbon tweeters for clarity and stereo imaging. While I do tracking in a pro studio, I purchased a pair of A7Xs for my home setup where I can do editing and basic automation. I am tempted to take these speakers into the pro studio and try some detailed mixing. They are portable and just the right size for me. 5 |

A music producer I know recommended Adam A7x7's for my home recording studio. I had been using the classic Yamaha NS 10M studio monitors and always thought they were awful ( even though I knew if I could make something sound good on them, it would sound good on any speakers). I also did a lot of comparative research, which also convinced me to go for the Adam AX7x7s. Glad I went with them. They are great and I couldn't be happier. 5 |

I moved my studio monitors, Adam ANF10s, to my listening room. Therefore, I needed to replace them in my studio. I auditioned several different monitors. KRK, Yamaha, etc. Before purchasing, I listened to the Adam T5V. These monitors had the familiar Adam sound that I was used to. Their clarity was second to none and put the other monitors I auditioned in the back seat. I cannot recommend the Adam T5V monitors enough. Definitely a great monitor choice. 5 |

Fantastic. Output is a pair of Adam Audio T5Vs, and inputs are a balanced DAC and a 3.5 mm connected to my PC monitor. I use this to switch between PC audio and my PS5 (connected to the PC monitor via HDMI). Suited my specific application very well. I appreciate the smoothness of the volume knob, though it is definitely a bit light. The unit itself is robust, it's heavy doesn't move with all the 1/4 jacks on the rear, feels well made. Buttons have a nice feel, takes a decent amount of weight to actuate, and very audible, so it's easy to tell if one has been accidently pressed. Also, I haven't personally been affected by channel imbalance at lower volumes using this controller. 5 |

I am a beginning artist with my small home studio. I was looking for a mic stand that worked for my needs. I found this through other reviews to be good. It was just as advised. I use it in combination with my Blue Bluebird mic and Stedman XL pop filter. It has held up quite well with all the weight at the end of it. It has so many adjustment points to it that I can place it in every position for instruments and vocalists. 5 |

I've been very happy with this sub and it blends well with my small Adam T5V computer speakers. Sound is very clear, great sound stage. I would get this combination again! 5 |

Going to the PSI Audio is an upgrade from the Adam A7Xs Id been using for 5 years. While Id say the Adams are 95% of the way to unadulterated flat audio the PSIs bring it up to 98%. For some that small difference might not be worth the large difference in price. All depends on your resources and how you choose to use them. For me monitors and sound treatment are of upmost importance to the realization of my productions. They are the window from which I view sound and a foggy window, or a small window, will impede the seeing of what is there. The PSIs offer a remarkably clean and balanced 3 dimensional imaging. Ive noticed little ear fatigue, even after many hours, unlike the Adams, which can tend to sound brittle after some hours of listening. I use the PSIs as near-fields and find them actually well suited to a 3 distance I normally work at (even though they are recommended for a further distance). With the Adams I employed a sub (either a Genelec or the Adam Sub8). With the PSIs I dont feel the need for a sub. 5 |

I had purchased an additional monitor to use in my recording studio. However, once I placed it into position behind my mixing board, I realized I was having great difficulty seeing all of the small icons on recording software. I only use reading glasses for small print up close but this monitor exposed the in between area of my eyesight that no prescription lenses can correct. So, I ordered the Ergotron monitor arm to try and rectify my issue. I was a bit hesitant about spending that much money for an extension arm but now I'm gad I did. This arm was so easy to set up even with my unusual shaped desk. It can be installed in a number of positions and I found the perfect spot for mine. It can be manipulated in a number of positions and angles for proper viewing and for moving it out of your way when necessary. It is built like a tank. It has a great cord rganizer which I really found useful since the monitor I'm using has six cables coming from it for use with all of my other peripherals. I don't know how I lived without it. 5 |
