Small Camera For Home With Audio

I used for whole home audio and it looks and sounds great.

Just what I needed for home stereo audio.

I've had the Smart Camera for about almost a week now and so far we are loving it. We got it mainly to use as a baby monitor, we we came across this one when researching for a video baby monitor; it's really neat that this is a home security camera with a baby monitor mode, so if we ever go on holidays or when our child gets older we can repurpose it. We were hesitant to get it at first, as I have found very few reviews about this product being used as a baby monitor, since it is a newer feature. We went ahead and ordered it because of the features and cost and glad we did! It arrived within a few days and was super easy to set up, including connecting to my Apple home network for Apple HomeKit Secure Video (nice being able to view the camera on the Home app, and even on Apple TV). The baby mode of the camera seems to work really well - the continuous audio function works well to be able to listen to the audio from the camera even when we close out of the app to open a different one or to lock the phone. Haven't used it yet but the activity zones or recording when there's motion seem to be good features. One thing that would be nice on it would be a built in thermometer/humidity reading like many other baby monitors have (I know ecobee has a thermostat and sensors, but living in an apartment don't want to buy the sensors if the thermostat won't be a good investment here).

I bought this as a result of working from home and being tired of looking down at my laptop camera. The quality and audio pickup in the camera is outstanding. Blocks out a lot of the background noise which is nice. It was also super easy to setup, no installations needed, it just worked. It was definitely worth the wait.

I run a videography company and use this microphone with my Sony HVR-A1U camcorder. It's a fantastic microphone for wedding and event videography, especially considering its size -- barely 7 in total length. The A1U itself is a small camera so this mic looks right at home in the mount, and the clarity of audio with this device is equal to that of my longer, more expensive ATR897. Can't hear any camera hum or noise operation of the mic itself; this thing picks up only what's going on around it, not what's going on inside it. Just be sure you use a high-grade XLR cable with it; I tried using an old 25' XLR cord I had lying around and the reception was terrible! Once I hooked up a 3' high-caliber cord, everything was as it should be. Only downside, and this is through no fault of the microphone itself, is that it's a little too small in diameter to fit comfortably into the included XLR adapter; I had to wrap a strip of rubber around the base, but this is no impediment to audio capture, and unless you're looking really hard it's impossible to even notice. Brilliant mic. Highly recommended. Works great indoors or out.

This small and easy to mount preamp fits right on the back of a battery pack with velcro. The knobs are easier to use than those of the HD camera it is mounted on. The quality audio and limiter gives me much more confidence than the built-in limiter and audio pre of the camera.

I bought it for a small audio recorder which can work with the 1/4 inch thread. If you need something to carry a brick of a camera, don't buy this. It will collapse on you.

I was looking for a small camera mic for my Canon EOS 6D mark 2 and the audio suggested to go look at the sennheiser as I was looking at the Rode which was kinda bulky. I am so happy with the quality

This is a great way to improve your sound using a small camera or smartphone as a video or audio recorder. The tripod mount is really well built and the mini tripod in the kit is very stable and can be used as a comfortable handle. If you are using your phone to shoot video this kit is worth adding to your setup!
