Small Microphone Discrete Wireless

The BP4029 is a versatile microphone ideal for documentary makers who want to travel with the minimal kit. I purchased this microphone from B&H back in 2008 and it has become my go-to microphone in most situations because I can use it in three different ways: 1. As a mono shotgun. I configure the microphone to discrete Mid-Side and connect an XLR-5F to XLR-3M adapter cable (to connect the Mid channel only) between the microphone and the boom pole; this way, the rest of the signal chain sees the BOP4029 as a mono microphone. 2. As a stereo shotgun with selectable width. I use the microphone (configured to LR-Wide or LR-Narrow depending on the desired effect) on a boom or pistol grip for recording stereo ambiance or sound effects. 3. As a versatile on-camera microphone yielding mono or stereo as needed. I use the microphone (configured as discrete Mid-Side) on the camera with Mid to Channel 1 and Side to Channel 2 (that's now the microphone is wired). While I'm editing, I'm using channel 1 as the primary dialogue channel. I will only use channel 2 if I want to use the sound of someone talking to the left or right of the camera. If I want to use a portion of stereo ambiance from a camera perspective, I'll use the Voxengo MSED plug-in to convert the discrete MS audio clip to stereo. Sometimes I have to use one of several lavs; other times, I need a dynamic cardioid or omnidirectional reporters microphone. However, most of the time, one of these configurations (along with an adapter cable if needed) of the Audio-Technica BP4029 provides the best sound recording option.

I always wanted a small portable PA system, with battery and enough power. Finally, I found it, plus extras that I did not care before, such as a wireless system and Bluetooth. The specific usage is for Christmas Caroling, to play the music tracks for the choir of about 20 people. Expedition XP106 met and exceeded my expectations. It has plenty power (100 watts), a clear and well balance output, and two features that make caroling a breeze. The music tracts can be in my iPhone, which can be sent them to the unit via Bluetooth with no wiring in between, plus, this units comes with a wireless microphone with a small receptor which it is connected to the back of the unit, via USB. The sound of the microphone is very natural and can be played (as we tested, from around 20 feet. The charge, according to the manufacturer can last up to 20 hours, all in a compact unit that is easy to carry and set. Nothing is perfect, thou. I would love to have at least a three points equalizer. I don't think there is a similar unit that matches its specs, including brand name recognition. Great unit. Love it.

This is a very discrete and small 35mm lens for my Sony a7CR. It is sharp and small and allows me to take photos without the fanfare of using my other larger lenses. This lens along with the Sony 24mm f/2.8 are perfect for travel and produce great photos even when cropped due to the large size of the sensor. I highly recommend this 35mm lens.

Discrete, small, intuitive, reliable, all without compromising image quality. Now, that's one heck of a camera.
