Small Wooden Wind Instruments

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

I like wind instruments. This is that and so much more. Nice features make playing sound like the real thing. Tried it all but haven't used it as a midi controller yet

Excellent sound quality for such a small microphone, even in the wind.

On location is great. Small until you need it. Just hope for no wind and an assistant.

Great wooden grip for my Sony rx vii. Not too large, fits perfectly. Still easily fits in my small belt pouch. Allows me to easily manipulate the small camera controls. Highly recommended

I've had many different arms over the years. Wooden Camera. SmallHD, Zacuto, Small Rig. This is the best one yet. It holds very well, has a smooth crank handle, and just does what it's supposed to do. I'll stick to these moving forward.

I use the small flexible point strips for most wooden frames because I often rotate a variety of photographic prints through any given frame. The flexible strips hold firmly but are easily bent up to replace a print and then easily bent back down to secure the matt and mounting board in the frame.

This works well with the older wooden camera DSLR Small cage that the fx3 used to go with. Great little add-on piece that gives a few more mounting options. I appreciate the hot shoe connection.

The 451B/ST may cost a bit more but they are worth the sound they capture. I use the 451's for mobile and studio work, recording various instruments & vocals. 1) Silky, Smooth Sound to melt for. 2) Little to no Eq needed (Fantastic!!!). 3) Sounds great on many instruments. 4) Makes mixing time pleasant (I love it!). 5) Leaves me more time to create. Besides the silky highs, these little microphones Pick up very impresive smooth low frequencies; which is what I was looking for in a small diaphram mic set. Another mic company offers a match pair set (which are great and are an awesome value) but, are just shy from having the 451 sound. The 451B/ST microphones makes recording easier and more enjoyable. You would have to hear other small diaphram microphones to appreciate the sound of the 451's.
