This is just what the doctor ordered to accompany my new Mac Pro. It is not as fast as a solid state drive but more than adequate for editing HD or storing video files. I also have a bunch of RAW photos on there as well that are easily and quickly editable in Lightroom. 5 |

I've only had this SSD installed in my Mac Pro Tower for a few days, but already I love it. I can shut down and restart in 32 seconds (timed it with a stopwatch!). The SSD was installed in the second optical bay, connected to the motherboard and power supply with a tangle of cables, which required a fair amount of disassembly of my Mac Pro (maybe 30 minutes of work). That's my only (minor) complaint and it's got nothing to do with the drive itself. I just installed the operating system and applications on this, and altogether they take up less than 20 GB of space, leaving plenty of room for OS X's virtual memory. Photoshop and other programs start up very quickly. I have all my data and images on SATA hard drives installed in the regular drive bays. Now I'm wondering if I shouldn't upgrade those to SSDs as well. 5 |

This is my second WD 1 TB drive, and I use them to both store and backup photos from my MacBook Pro (with solid-state storage). Even with lots of RAW files, the transfer rate seems fast. It is small, and easily stored when not in use. There is nothing about this drive that I would change. 5 |
