Solid State Hybrid Hard Drive Vs Ssd

This device makes a solid state drive (SSD) compatible for a Mac Pro. The hard drive slides that come with the computer only mount 3.5 inch drives. I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it!

By putting the OS on the ssd, the pc boots up and starts so much faster than it used to. 120gb isn't a huge amount, nowadays, but it is enough to put most of my regular use programs on and run the peripherals off the external hard drive. I'm currently building a gaming pc and will incorporate ssd boot up in it, for sure.

Bought this as an upgrade to another portable hard drive I have for when I'm shooting on the road. It's super fast and I don't have to worry about a spinning disk since it's solid state. Also, being solid state it seems to draw less power from my laptop. The biggest plus is the extra speed though. Great little hard drive

The solid state hard drive fit in it perfect. I did have to alter the mounting pin areas in the sides though, so the unit would fit in the case. I used a Dremel tool to grind out the four areas, where the pins engage, so the whole unit could slide into the case.
