I have Sony 18-105/f4 and ZV-E10, and they work well together. Then I need a f1.8-2.8 zoom lens. I checked Sony, Sigma and Tamron, and decided to buy a ZV-1. It meets my expectation. Yes, it has a 1 sensor, just as many professional camcorders have. ZV-1 takes good video, and it is not just for begginers. You pay half price to get all the new features of Sony's new cameras, if you don't care about viewfinder. For vlogging, ZV-1 is good enough. Someone said that Sony made ZV-E10 to sell more their lenses. It has some true in it. 5 |

I just received this lens which replaced my Sony 18-105 PZ. I never needed the power zoom function but it was the best zoom option I found. I tried the Tamron 18-200 but found the images were just a tad too soft compared to the 18-105. I’m happy with this new zoom. Much lighter and smaller. And I’m happy to report the images seem slightly sharper as well (I’m a pixel peeper). My main use will be using it while hiking so the slightly slower speed is an easy trade off. 5 |

I own 5 Sony APC lenses and I use my 18-105 the most. The 'mostly wide' 18mm solves most on the fly situations where I want to capture a large context indoor space or a landscape. The 105 end of the lens lets me reach into a crowd without being obnoxious. I use it occasionally for video, and the fixed 4.0 makes shooting without thinking, and without messing with ND filter settings, a breeze. Highly recommend. 5 |

Bought the sling bag to house a Sony a6000 and 18-105 lens when walking through New York. Great design overall and in the details; the sling is well-padded, secure, modular, and non-descript. The only shortcoming is that there is no possibility of expanding the sling beyond a camera and maybe a notebook. Any extra layer or an impulsively-purchased sandwich are going to be in you hand. Throughly recommended. 5 |

This is an initial review of this lens. I bought it for another camera that I do not yet own. I have the Sony a6000, and love it. Unfortunately (or fortunately) my teenage son has taken quite a liking to photography and has been using my a6000 just about all the time these days (as he is taking a photography class in school). So I planned to get the a6300 and another zoom lens for myself. I have the Sony G series 4/18-105 on my a6000 and it is very nice and gives me the range for a single lens when traveling. But it made no sense to me to get another copy of that lens. Of course, as one knows, there is not a very wide variety of lenses for the a6000/a6300 cameras. Despite mixed reviews (that may result from quality control issues) I decided to spring for the Sony/Zeiss 4/16-70 when it was selling for $100 off. Still not at all cheap, at least for me and my level of use. During the time I was getting the 4/16-70 the reports and early reviews of the a6500 started to appear, and I decided to wait until I could get more information on the a6500 before getting myself a new camera body. So, I have only had limited experience with the lens on my a6000. What I can say is that, if there are issues related to quality control, then I got a good copy of the lens. I don't pixel peep, but I do think it is a little sharper than the 4/18-105 and the colors are more of what my eyes see. I suppose this is what they mean about Zeiss optics. So, initially, I am very happy with this lens. But, for the price difference between the 4/18-105 and this 4/16-70, I could not recommend getting it over the 4/18-105 unless money is no object--esp. as the range on the 4/18-105 makes it much more of a single lens option for the camera. I still do recommend it with reservations, however, as it is a very good lens. Once I get either the 6300 or 6500 body, I will do some more in depth testing and report back if my opinion changes significantly in either direction. 5 |

I picked up a Sony PZ 18-105 F4 and needed a UV protector for an upcoming trip. The UV filter was perfectly clear. My photos from the National Cathedral and other places on the trip came out fine no matter what range I was on with the lens. 5 |

I have the Sony FS-7. I was using the 18-105 lens. Had the money for this upgrade and its fantastic. I come from the ENG news world. This lens acts and looks like an ENG lens. Iris is now on the lens instead of the camera body which takes some time getting use to the change. If you have the money you wont be disappointed. 5 |
