I own the Sony A7III and was looking to upgrading a new camera, however the A7SIII is way to expensive and the other camera that Sony announced was expensive as well. Blackmagic 6k Pro was a decent price that had a lot of life quality options that I enjoy, compared to Sony's UI. Though I have invested sony lenses, this will be my main camera for short film projects while I use sony as my photography and commercial based work. 5 |

If you've got a recent Sony camera that has a smart hot-shoe (check the list...mine was on it), this adapter works great with the Sony Digital Receiver(s) to transmit audio directly without need for another wire. Super cool for gimbal work. 5 |

I had placed myself on the wait list months ago and was fortunate enough to be able pick one up last Friday. The IV has an improved control layout and even the sound of the shutter release make this a massive upgrade to the Sony Alpha AR7 IV. Out of the box and with a non- G lens the camera produced amazingly crisp and large and images. Menus and UI also seem faster, quick startup and expanded image buffer. Wonderful focus options, in the same realm of the A9. My only concerns are future wear scrapes and scratches, coming from a Canon 5D eco-system I wasn’t accustomed to Sony’s terrible paint. This camera is so new that there are few if any protective wraps or cases. Overall, an amazing rig, and so glad I made the leap. 5 |

Sigma has a list of compatible lenses for this adapter, and technically only guarantees compatibility with lenses on that list. Over the years I've accumulated a few Sigma lenses, and while contemplating a switch from Canon to Sony, wanted to know if I'd be able to use some of my existing lenses. I have an older 15-30mm full frame, a zoom 50-500mm, an 8-16mm crop sensor lens, and a 24-300 crop sensor. Only the last lens is on the Sigma compatibility list. The adapter worked for all lenses. Autofocus and aperture settings well controlled by the Sony A7r ii. I love how Sony detects the crop lens and automatically captures the smaller area. Autofocus on the zoom at 500mm seemed to hunt before finding the right spot, but I think that's more due to the focal length and not any issue with either the adapter or the camera. Only minor problem I had was with the oldest lens of the bunch (15-30mm), the camera thought I had an extra f-stop or two. Auto exposure worked fine, but when I choose the aperture there were smaller settings available than the lens could support. Choosing one of those, the camera would simply not take a picture, and if I pressed the shutter it would no longer work even if I moved away from the incorrect aperture setting. Turning the camera off and on reset things. So if I use that lens, all I need to do is keep it fully automatic, or know not to choose the bottom f-stop. Just a minor issue with an admittedly unsupported lens. Very pleased with the adapter. I can use it to permanently use the bigma 50-500mm zoom, and use the crop sensor lenses until I'm ready to upgrade to Sony compatible and full frame replacements. 5 |

Had many different cameras (Cannon (too many to list) Minolta, Sony A6000, etc). Love how easy this camera is, and the lens is just WOW! 5 |

I just received this gimbal and am setting it up for use with my SONY FX30. I know that that camera is not currently on DJI's list of compatible devices for this gimbal, but I wanted to share that as of May 2023 the camera and gimbal will pair over Bluetooth, enabling the gimbal to control the camera. This was one of my questions going into purchasing the gimbal, so hopefully this can help someone else. DJI seems to be pretty slow to update their list of compatible devices and there are currently several SONY cameras (ZV-1, FX30, ZV-E1) on the market that seem like they should work with this gimbal. At least I can confirm that one does. 5 |

The wait really was worth it. This camera really has it all when it comes to creating pristine 4k resolution cinematic footage. Beyond amazing low light capabilities with little noise, near dual ISO, all the frame rates you really need, with rock solid auto focus and super flexible 10 bit file formats for grading. Honestly, the only thing this camera doesn't have which I really wish it did was 6K recording. For some reason this capability is only available on the Sony Venice, which is a mind blowing camera that is far too expensive for 99.9% of the filming population. The fact that Sony only offers 6k on its most premium of premium cameras is really screwed up, as this resolution has been available for some time on pretty much all the competition's cameras at pricing comparable to the A7Siii (Panasonic S1H, Canon R5, Blackmagic Pocket 6k, etc). But I digress. While I am extremely frustrated that Sony only offers 6k at a ridiculous premium, everything else about this camera is pure perfection. Built in ND filters would have been nice, but not a deal breaker for me. If you absolutely must have built-in ND and you can afford a pricier camera, then go with the FX6, which is basically an A7siii in a camcorder body with built in NDs. 5 |
