Sony 7506 Studio Monitor Headphone

Sony Studio Monitor MDR-7506's are alone in their class. All the field audio engineers and camera operators I know use this headphone to monitor audio recorded on location. They are ruggedly built, comfortable enough to wear for hours, and accurately represent what is being recorded. 5 |

We have a couple of pairs of Sony MDR-7506's around and one of my team calls them the "AK47" of headphones. Reliable, indestructible, and they just work. When I picked these Senal's up- on a B&H daily deal, and they showed up- he said- "Look like they came out of the same mold as the Sony" which may be correct. As to comparing the audio specs for listening to music- I can't tell you squat. I use them with our video camera to shoot talking heads- and they work just fine. The best part- which may be a curse over time, we'll see, is that they have interchangeable cords. I LOVE the short cord while shooting. It stays out of the way- and doesn't get caught on things. For this alone- I'd buy them again and again. I'm hoping it holds up. But, then again if the Sony cord goes bad- good bye entire headphone. I was a bit disappointed they didn't come with a headphone pouch. But- other than that- these rock. 5 |

When something works I like to stay with it. The Sony MDR-7506's have been a staple in my studio for two decades now. My first pair were a bit worn after that long and it was about time I replaced them. True to my first pair, the sound is balanced and what I expect as I often use them as a 2nd reference for softer to mid level mixing and for VoiceOver work. Rugged, long-lasting. Here's to the next 20 years! 5 |

Can't go wrong with this set of cans. I personally prefer these to the Sony MDR-7506 studio headphones. The Sennheisers are much more sturdy and cancel out the sound very well. I would say these are heavy on the midtones but hold a decent bass. Not nearly as good of a soundstage as the Sennheiser HD598's which are dropping in price ($) but those are more for private music sessions as the HD280's I would recommend for video editing. 5 |

I've replaced the original earpads in a couple of Sony MDR-7506 studio headphones as well as a Audio-Technica BPHS1 broadcast headset. I find them more comfortable that the OEM earpads. Easy to install, and they last. 5 |

The Sony MDR-7506 headphones are a staple in the studio and it's easy to see why. These sound great and are so cheap. B&H had the best price I could find, they came the next day (for no extra charge), and immediately made all of my monitor headphones obsolete. The cord has a great flexible length, allowing the musicians to move about without being encumbered by length restrictions. Short story: Best studio headphones under $100. 5 |

I recently upgraded my studio with a 16-in/16/out audio interface, but with no headphone jack and no monitor control. This little box solved my monitor control issue perfectly. Extremely transparent to my ears, very solid build, all the controls have a nice feel to them, and great looks. The wood sides are more of a walnut color than what's shown on the website, which was perfect. Highly recommended. 5 |
