Sony A6000 Lenses Camera Decision
James | 2024-09-25 06:15:31 |
This is the best lens out there for a Sony a6000 camera. Its not as sharp as the Zeiss Batis lenses for my Sony a7R III, but it has extra rich coloring, which is a Zeiss trademark. Many people complain about this lens being decentered. I dont exactly know what that means, but Im happy with the one I got. The lens is not cheap. It cost over twice as much as the camera and kit lens together, but for me its worth it. I bought it to take to India, which Ill be visiting the first week of January. 5 |

Picked up some dust changing Lenses on my Sony A6000, the camera's self cleaning mode left some stubborn specs that where showing up on pictures. The Rocket Blaster got rid of those specs. 5 |

Purchased this lenses at B&H for my Sony A6000. Keep in mind -this a fully MANUAL lense - No complaining please. Construction - Excellent, a little too well-built for the A6000. For it's size, it's heavy. Mount fits snugly, will notice minimal shifting when jerking the camera, but it's expected - weighs more than the camera. Lens cap good; Mount cap garbage. A true wide angle. Very easy to get the whole frame in focus and sweet subjects isolated when needed. Focus ring is great - for my liking. Aperture is clicked. Center starts sharpening best at F2.0 Corners Best from F4-F8. Better Contrast than the Sony 50mm 1.8, 55mm-210mm, Sigma 19MM, 30MM, 60MM, Can sometimes can be sharper than all of the above. If you really want a quality FULLY MANUAL wide angle lens, then buy it. Otherwise, Touit, Rokinon 12MM F2 (ULTRAWIDE). WARNING: A. Bad lense shadowing when using on-board flash on the SONY A6000. B. Will have to set a custom key to use Focus Magnification. (I used the center dial key - lost Eye AF) Will not automatically pull up this feature like other supported Sony lenses. C. Goodbye Quick Hybrid AF features. 5 |

I bought the A6000 to be used as a camera for sports, primarily skiing, but love it as a general purpose camera for kids, birds, etc. Another reason I bought it is that I wanted a relatively inexpensive, high quality camera I can take into riskier situations (backountry skiing) without worrying about breakage. Since I also own an A7 I share lenses with the A6000. Thus far I find myself using the Sony FE 70-200 G lens the most but I've also got the Zeiss 35mm, 50mm and 24-70mm lenses. I'm very pleased with the image quality even with cropping. The frame rate and autofocus speed on this camera is incredible...you won't be dissappointed. Sony really seems to be on a great run with all their mirrorless products. Some reviews knock the EVF resolution, but I have not found that to be an issue at all, in fact, I was very pleased with the clarity. 5 |

Bought this camera as my second A6000 to travel with. Small size, large well-designed sensor, focus peaking and ability to use with my legacy Leica lenses and newer Sony and Sony Zeiss lenses make it perfect for landscape, portrait and street photography. No down sides found yet; with external flash can use off-camera TTL flash lighting to produce professional results. I am most impressed with this iteration of Sony's NEX/Alpha camera line; they hit a home run with the A6000 in my opinion. 5 |

Being recently retired, I find myself traveling more and more. My main camera is a nikon D90, however, it is way too heavy to carry all the time. I've been looking at mirrorless cameras for awhile and finally made the decision to purchase the Sony a6000. What a great decision! The a6000 lives up to it's reviews. Easy to use and beautiful photos. For the price you can't go wrong with this mirrorless gem. 5 |
