Sony A6300 User Manual

I got this for use on my Sony A6000 and A6300. I admit I didn't even read the manual; just plugged it in and tried it with 100% success. It turns out that I can increase the shutter time when using this in conjunction with a monopod to 1/2 second or longer which is pretty impressive! And all that convenience for a very reasonable price makes this a must have for Sony camera owners.

I had to get this for my a6300 because Sony doesn't include them when the camera is bundled with a lens.

Good quality unit - I can use my older Sony flash on the a6300 now.

I've had the A6000 and now A6300. While my wife is the primary user of the camera, I would use it more if the lens selection available was what it should be. When the preorder link came available for this lens I ordered it immediately, and it does not disappoint. Very sharp, good color rendition, the lens profile is already available in Lightroom. There are still more holes in the lens lineup but this was a welcome addition for me. Very pleased with this lens !!!

I have had this lens for two weeks. I have always wanted to get an ultra wide lens, because I have been on crop sensor the whole time. I come from an A57 to A6300. I wanted to invest in a good wide lens. This came up as the best candidate as far as $/performance. I didn't mind that it was full manual lens. I used a manual fisheye on my A57 and got used to the full manual characteristic. FYI This lens is full manual, it has no data connection with the camera. It doesn't transfer EXIF data. So you won't be able to see what aperture you shot the photo in. Pros: - Very fast, f2.0 is very useful as long as you nail the focus. - Wide. You can do astrophography, or landscape, or even party photography. I have used it to photograph cars, people (in parties), and recorded video of myself driving in my car to do more creative videos. The wider focal point really increases the creative uses of this lens. - Pretty sharp. At lower focal points, the corners are a bit soft, but if you go f4.0 or above, it's very sharp overall. I used it for 4k videos with the A6300, it just looks amazing. I will attach a video - Feel of the manual focus ring. It's nice and heavy. I enjoy using it. - Build quality. Lens feels amazing. I am pretty happy with its build for the price I paid. - Size. This lens is perfect on the A6300. I have a Zeiss 24-70 f4, and with that lens a6300 feels very front heavy. With the Samyang, it's amazing. I can carry it in one hand for long periods of time and not get tired. Cons: - Can be soft at the corners when the aperture is opened This lens is amazing. I would highly recommend to any photographer who wants to shoot more exciting shots. Once you get over that it's a full manual lens, you can go crazy with it. I shot a party of my friend while being intoxicated all night. People are blown by the quality of the photos. Being extremely wide, I managed to get wide shots of people and tight spots.
