On my Sony Alpha a7r II this lens is astonishingly good. It's so good it inspires me to shoot. Of all my Canon L lenses and of all my Leica M lenses, I've never felt more inspired by a lens. It balances well on the a7r II and it's much easier to shoot than my 24-70mm GM f/2.8 zoom - because it's lighter and smaller. Sharpness wide open at f/1.4 is ridiculously good. 5 |

I recently purchased a David D. Busch Sony Alpha a6000/ILCE-6000 Guide to Digital Photography from B&H and am amazed how concise every detail about the camera and using it is covered. This is an updated review after using it on my Sony A7R II for a couple of weeks. Still works fantastic. You have to update firmware on the camera, remote and lights. We tried it on someone else's A7R II that had old firmware and it would not work until we updated the firmware on the camera. You can shoot right up 1/8000th of second no problem. It's really a game changer for Sony cameras. 5 |
