Sony Alpha A7S Mirrorless Digital Camera Review

We purchased this lens alongside the Sony Alpha a7S III to start our new camera build. We used this lens on a couple of previous video shoots before purchasing and were impressed by the quality of image that we were able to capture, and having one in-house is even better. The combination with the UV filter was a free bonus for us during a sale, but the filter is good quality and it would have been on my list to purchase anyways, so I would recommend it as well.

If you've played with a mirrorless camera already, especially one of the Sony ones, then nothing here will surprise you. It's the same as the other Alpha cameras, only everything is 3x better/faster/sharper! While not revolutionary, this is a big evolutionary jump that gets several steps closer to bridging to the gap with consumer-grade DSLR's, in half the size and at half the price.

I purchased this Sony Alpha a6000 with the 16-50mm and 55-210 with free accessories, as a backup to my Canon 6d mark ii. I also bought this for the 11 fps, and it has not failed me. Also, having a less expensive mirrorless camera has given me the opportunity to decide about future mirrorless camera purchases, which I will probably get, and will definitely purchase from B&H Photo. They have been great. I highly recommend this camera kit if one is not sure if they want to go the mirrorless market or as a great backup to your DSLR.

Great for traveling and attaches to my Sony Alpha A7 Ii Mirrorless camera perfectly. Lightweight and compact.

My camera is a Sony Alpha II, which is a very good mirrorless dslr, that takes movies as well. Of course the built in mic is minimal. I tried it out for real at a house concert, with serious audio equipment, and an audience of about 50. The two mics were both pointed at the artist, so it was not really sterio. The sound quality was quite presentable on the external stereo speakers driven from my laptop. My intention is iTunes and Facebook use, not making studio quality audio so it clearly does the job for me.

Finally, i received my new Sony Alpha a7 Mark II mirrorless camera on Monday, December 28, 2020 via USPS. It is a remarkable camera I ever owned so far. I already owned a Sony Alpha 6000 compact and i really like it. I also owned several Pentax and Nikon cameras but this is my first full frame mirrorless one. it is wonderful to have these additions for my hobby.

Fantastic mirrorless camera, I love the alpha series very much, I've tried canon and nikon but sony gets it just right. As an amateur photographer, I use B&H for all my camera needs, they have everything I'm looking for and more. I upgraded from the A7 III and I don't regret it. Not much of a difference except for the body style and sensor which is a great upgrade for me. I love this camera and would recommend anyone to get it. If you have trouble deciding, rent one and you will know what I'm talking about.

If you own a Sony Alpha camera, you owe it to yourself to match this lens up with it. This should be required kit for anybody with a Sony mirrorless camera. I have an A73 and it's just a very reliable, flattering, sharp and lightweight lens. The compression works well for portrait work. It hasn't let me down at all with my clients. This lens will make you look like a photographic genius. It's a no brainer, especially at this price.
