Sony Atmos For Headphones

Using this between Sony A7iii and Atmos monitor and it is working out really well.

I bought this device to get more out of my 4K Blu-ray disks on my Sony TV and Dolby Atmos receiver. The Dolby Atmos and picture has improved from my PS5 as a play back device. The only issues I have is that sometime the Sony Bravia TV decides to switch the sound to the EARC channel from the dedicated HDMI sound connection channel. When it does I need to change the Denon Reciver back to the correct sound input. It would also be nice to install Disney+, Vudu, and movies Anywhere to the players options. The images and sound from Netflix and my Blu-rays are great. I setup 13 speakers in a 7.2.4 on my receiver. I had to do a pre-amp out for two of the channels.

This is Sony's first professional headphone in years and they've done it again the sound quality is exceptional the 360° Sony spatial sound is incredible and if you play Dolby Atmos music it gives you virtual Dolby Atmos sound again outstanding headphones for that price

Compared with the Sony elevation, Polk are better, or should I say they are louder, clearer and do a better job delivering atmos audio.

I bought this to replace my old Sony STR-DE1075 which still worked great but had no HDMI input capability. I wanted Dolby Atmos and the STR-DH790 provides this. I am using it with a Roku Ultra and there are many Dolby Atmos videos on Youtube but none will really blow you away like I was hoping. I have yet to use it for a Dolby surround sound movie but look forward to hearing the full effects once I do. I know that the STR-DH790 is providing the full surround sound so I just need to find a good video to really try it out.

Use it with an early Sony bravio smart tv. TV does not support atmos but the streaming music channels give sounds I never knew were being broadcast. Can't wait to purchase a new atmos capable tv and add a base unit.

I bought these pair of Atmos upfiring speakers to go along with the Sony floor standing speakers, which they perfectly fit. Although many people complain about the effectiveness of upfiring speakers compared to in-ceiling ones, these work good as long as your ceiling surface is even and not too high, which otherwise would cause sound dispersion, and therefore not so much impact.
