I come from a full frame Canon background and I recently picked up this lens for a Sony Alpha 6000 to use as a webcam. It not only performs like a champ as a webcam, it shoots photos well. AF speed is decently fast. It's certainly not the fastest but it's def on the fast side. Sharpness is also very good. I've seen sharper lenses but as a prime 1.4, its photos are pretty sharp. The size is large for a Sony mirrorless APS-C, but coming from full-frame lens world, this lens is much smaller than what I'm used to. It attracts less attention when you're outside. Overall, this is a relatively cheap lens that performs well on a Sony mirrorless body. I don't think you can go wrong with this if you're looking for a wide angle prime. Haven't really done portrait shots, but as a talking head zoom camera, it does its job really well. There are also many YouTube review videos and the they're very positive. For the last 29 years I have been a Minolta/Sony Camera user and currently have a Sony A7R and previously owned an A7 and A6500. The Sony's are great cameras and take really great photos. I am now at a stage in life where traveling and moving around with full frame and SPSC lens are becoming a burden and just not worth the effort physically and artistically. I have always been fascinated with the Micro Four Thirds system and it's smaller lens size. I finally decided to ignore the conventional wisdom and bought the Lumix DMC-G85 a few weeks ago. Currently I am using a Lumix G Vario 12-35 F2.8 and 14-150mm F 3.5. These two lenses give me pretty much all the range I need and the weight of bot lenses together is approximately one pound and half the size of my other lens. My first experience in shooting with G85 was that I discover some noise in some of my initial photos, something I hadn't really noticed with my Sony system. After doing research on settings and post processing in Lightroom, and I now have it under control and am happy with the images so far. I really like the feel of the G85 with it's larger grip than some of the other Olympus and Lumix models. I love being able to put the body and two of my lens in a much smaller bag and carrying less total weight. There is a feeling of freedom when using a lighter camera system. I found the menu system easy to adapt to. Knowing that I have a full frame camera for those situations where I need to capture the ultimate in image quality is nice, but I have a feeling that those situations may be fewer and further in between. Photography is about compromise. Micro four thirds may someday, soon, become my only camera system.

I have never owned a full frame. I take photos of nature/landscape and my wife makes videos/vlogging. We needed a hybrid camera. I have owned Nikon D5500 which was great but bulky. Then Lumix LX100 was very portable for hikes, but then realized I wanted more reach. Got newly released Lumix GX9 which been great, but was struggling in low light. Even though I rarely take photos of night stars I wanted that option and only full frame can really provide that (or medium). On top of that wife started doing videos and we needed something with flip screen. I was really torn between Fuji and Sony even though Fuji is not full frame. I love Fuji's looks and manual dials, and the famous fuji colors. But after watching several youtube videos of blind comparison of colors between Fuji and Sony, 7 out of 10 I preferred Sony which actually was surprising for me. Then I saw Panasonic S5, same as fuji, looks, ergonomics and manual dials really were pulling me away from Sony. But as it turns out S5's autofocus is not great which is really important for vlogging. People complaining about lack of manual controls and bad EVF, but it seems they don't consider in size of the camera, it's tiny and sacrifices had to be made. It's like saying smart car is bad because it lacks trunk space. Do I wish there were more features? Yes I do, like 40mp sensor or pixel shift, fully functional touch screen and new menu system, but for me this camera is near perfect as is given it's size especially with the new pancake lens lineup.

I've been taking photos for over 40 years and was reluctant to get into digital cameras, let alone mirrorless ones! I tried several mirrorless over the years including Sony, and was not a fan. But after reading the Z6 reviews I just had to try it. And I believe this is my favorite camera ever! Fabulous Nikon build quality, of course, and amazing performance with the full-frame sensor. I absolutely love it and hope to use it for many years to come!

At last I will be able to shoot digital photos with something besides by iPhone.
