Sony Disk Explorer 400

I am moving my 400+ classical CDs to disk for easier access without shuffling the little silver saucers. The D1 gave me immediate plug and play access to my WAV files on disk thru USB in and RCA out to my Denon HiFi equipment. The sound is, as far as my ears can tell, identical to the original CDs. That ranges from a large library of opera to the most delicate piano sonatas. I am delighted to eliminate the CD media. The D1 does the job perfectly with absolutely minimum fuss.

It fits my Sony 400 very well and it comes with QD socket.

Heavier than I thought, but I know it still could be the lightest 100-400 lens for Sony E.

This works perfect with my Sony FX1. I'm able to mount both my mic and my hard disk drive to the shoe for easy access and great performance.

Cleaned up multiple EDID problems between an UHD disk player and a 4K Sony projector.  The Atlona help line was fantastic.  The technician could be reached instantly, was extremely knowledgeable and very gracious.  This is a great product from a company offering world class technical guidance.

I tested these cards with Blackmagic Disk Speed test and they reached 600 MB/s, but that may have been a bottleneck in my computer or card reader (also ProGrade). Nonetheless, these cards work great in my Sony Alpha 1 and allow me to use all video modes and codecs. The stills buffer clears way faster than SD UHS-II cards as well. These cards are still pricey but at least they're undercutting the Sony CFA cards.

I like the smarts of it. Picture quality is great. Automatically goes to the DVD when I insert a disk even though I don't have a Sony TV. Upscales beautifully.

For $400, it is as sharp and reliable as any Sony, Leica or Sigma lense and half the price.
