I'm a software/electronics engineer, and dabbles in media as a hobby, so not exactly the target market. I really enjoy my MDR-7506 headphones and wear them for a few hours on any given work day. My main use for them is listening to higher bitrate web radio, also for skype, etc. Great performance, especially for the price! Sound is very clear, down to quite a low frequency, though I'm not really an audiophile or well versed in comparable headphones. If anything, I'd say the sound is a little bit clinical, exactly what monitors are meant for. Nice isolation; I don't have to use much volume at all to completely tune out nearby conversations in an office setting. Construction is solid, nice quality cable and connector seems like they'll hold up well. Ear pads and pressure are comfortable and effective. Ear cups flip around easily, to the point that it took a day or two for me to get used to taking the headphones off without cups flipping around. The blue stickers on the ear cups look a bit dorky IMHO, but they're easy to peel off. 5 |

I have no knowledge about headphones or any audio electronics. I just need a decent wired in-ear headphones for listening to classical music. Wired because it's annoying and inconvenient having to charge it when I need to use it at the moment. In-ear because I wear eyeglasses and all the over-ear headphones cause extreme discomfort. And I am sick of those cheaply made earbuds online. I never even heard of IEM until this purchase, and I am glad I bought this. I listen to orchestra symphony a lot, also pieces by single instrument. I could tell all sounds collectively and individually well, imagine I am in the audience inside the concert hall and I can shift my attention anytime to the oboes, French horns, cellos...etc. I can feel like I sit next to the grand piano that is played on stage now. I almost cried the first time I put this on to listen to the classical music recordings on YouTube. Sorry for not being to offer any professional and technical analysis on this product. This is all I could say about how happy I am. well worth the money. 5 |

So far, this has been incredibly convenient and really nice to use. It even charges my jabra wireless headphones! The electronics can get a little warm while using it but I’ve found that to be the norm with wireless charging. 5 |

As a long-time user of Sony electronics and photo gear I knew that the Icf-506 would fulfill my need for a simple AM/FM receiver to pull out weaker signals from a saturated urban radio listening environment. It does this job extremely well and the audio from its near 4 inch speaker is crisp and clear. Easy to understand voice and fully rounded music audio - even for a hearing impaired person like myself. I haven’t yet tried pulling in weaker nightime stations as yet but I am certain it will excel at this task as well. A winner all the way. 5 |

I live some 50 miles from any electronics store, so my purchase decision was made from online research. After initially considering a half dozen radios, I narrowed my choice to two. Fortunately, I found a YouTube comparison which touted the sound quality of the Sony being the tiebreaker. My favorite FM station is over 50 miles away and is tricky for some radios to receive. Not this one! I wish my car stereo had this kind of performance. The 4” speaker surprised me with the bass level. The high end rolls off earlier than I preferred. Think AM radio with a little more extension. Headset use will get you a bit more high end. It is obvious that this radio has been tuned more toward talk radio than music. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase. My intended use is for: Shop Garage Patio Beach Hurricane This Sony is adequate for all of these. 5 |
