Sony Headphones Buzzing In Right Year

Bought the first one, tried it out, and bought two more immediately. Terrific microphone. I used to own a Sennheiser, but after a year of use, it started buzzing. Glad to replace it with this mic. 5 |

I have a one-year-old CD/DVD portable player and I wear hearing aids so I must use headphones when I use the device. However, the output of the player coupled with the weak output of my headphones was anemic. I decided to splurge and buy these and I can honestly say this is the best investment in ME that I've made in a long time. The description of this SONY MDR 7506 says it will provide a louder output than the less expensive headphones that I had been using, and the ad was correct. Instead of turning up the CD/DVD player all the way up and having to strain to hear much, I can now comfortably listen with the player output at half its output. I don't know how SONY did it but the sound is remarkable and very clear. Way to go BH for selling it. PW/SARASOTA Florida 5 |

After my 30-year old Sony MDR CD50's ear cushions became non existent, I decided to give these headphones a shot. 1. Great "flat" response 2. Ideal for music production with DAW 3. Good for recording vocal with their minimal leak 4. Very much affordable for anyone 5. Comfortable to wear for extended periods of time 6. Foldable and come with their own "gig bag" Overall, I strongly recommend these headphones - you will be very happy with their performance. 5 |

I've had this for almost a year and feel they are a real breakthrough in headphones. It's a big, grand sound along with palpable, natural images with real-life spatial portrayal. They are not fatiguing, especially with the optional Sony-Kimber headphone cable made especially for the Z1R (available at Amazon). The Z1R to me has a wonderful warm resonance that does sound aggressive, but is still uncannily real. The music flows but has real impact and humanity. You may want to give up on speakers with these headphones. It's a unique sound that you will not find with any other headphones. Many high end headphones can be shrill and painful in the name of a vivid sound, but that can be hard to live with. Not the Z1R, it is inviting while also resolving, with a balanced sound that is riveting and still supremely musical and detailed. And it's very comfortable too. It is best with a good, fairly powerful amplifier. The Z1R is a real cure for over-shrill digital sound. It sound analog, almost vinyl-like with any digital input. It's an awesome achievement for Sony IMHO. 5 |

Good new: my 22-year old Sony MDR-V6 headphones still sound good. Bad news: the original ear pads lasted only 15 years, and the Sony replacements lasted only 7 years. I'm hoping these Auray Sheepskin Leather Earpads will last many more years. They are certainly comfortable; we shall see. The original Sony headband has also turned to flaking goo; my wife sewed a new fabric wrapper for it. Sony can make electronics, but not plastic! 5 |

My 20 year old Sony Professional headphones finally died after one too many drops to the floor. I purchased these as a replacement. I use these headphones to do run and gun video production and music (primarily piano) recitals. They provide full range frequency sound which allows me to hear all of the bad notes. 5 |

I go through a set of ear pads every year or two on my Sony MDRv-6 headphones. I thought the velour wouldn't be as sticky and hot in the summer. The pads fit the cans well and don't seem to affect the sonic quality. They're also comfortable. I'd buy them again. If this was for work at the studio (sharing) I'd stick with the faux leather for sanitary reasons. 5 |
